Topper Grande Corona Cigar Review
This 6×47 stick features a medium brown wrapper with an extremely light pack, small veins, stretch marks and imperfections, tight seams, oily soft pack, a sloppy double cap and pungent sweet earth aroma. First light reveals a great draw with medium bodied thick smoke production showing flavors of a light sweet earth and slight pepper joined by a big hay through the finish. The first third goes south pretty fast as far as flavors, pushing to a sweet metallic nut that has a very chemical like taste especially on the finish. The smoke is gritty harsh and raw tasting, with no glimmer of smoothness or refinement. Hitting the 1/2 way point at 30 minutes, construction is great, with huge plumes of rich thick smoke and a great draw & burn. Flavors change a bit, dropping the weird chemical and metallic tastes, leaving an big oily nuttiness and getting a bit smoother. Ending at 45 minutes with well over an inch left I had to stop, as flavors went south again giving off a disgusting latex paint taste that lingered and was just unsmokeable. Thank you very much to viewer Doug Hahn for sending this in to review!
