The Football Cigar First Down Cigar Review
This unique 72×4.5 stick is obviously shaped like a football, aimed at fans and collectors. The company makes unique versions with team colors ordered through the website as well. It features a squishy very light pack, very good aesthetics with lace and line details of contrasting leaf. The finish is butter soft with a potent sweet hay aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with thin light smoke output showing medium bodied flavors of a peppery tobacco and a woody finish with a bit of a zing. The first third needs a touchup after the first stripe of maduro leaf hits the burnline. Flavors are down a tick to mild-medium with just a soft tobacco on the draw and a touch of pepper spice and wood on the short finish. Halftime comes at 35 minutes adding a nice thick cream to thee draw and finish while also bumping up the body and adding back a touch of cinnamon through the finish. Ending at the last inch 55 minutes in, it got too hot for my taste but stayed the course with the profile and good construction.
