Felix Assouline Something Special Elegant Cigar Review

This 5.5×44 stick features a dark brown buttery soft wrapper with a red hue, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, large double cap, sharp box pressed edges and a sweet earth aroma. First light reveals a squishy head and the cap comes off after cutting. Smoke production is good, body is a medium-full giving very bitter oily tobacco notes. The first third burns well and very slowly, dropping the ash after a flowery inch. Flavors are a creamy earth with a big black pepper bite to it, while the finish is on the short side. Hitting the 1/2 way point at 40 minutes it required a couple relights but luckily did not suffer any bad taste for it. Flavors and overall performance is very consistent. Ending at just over an hour, it had a bit more cream flavor on the draw past the band point. Thank you very much to Felix Assouline Cigars for sending this in for review!
