Ventura Project 805 Robusto Cigar Review
This 5×50 stick features a very firm toothy dark brown wrapper with medium veins, tight invisible seams, large sloppy single cap and a pungent sweet hay aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with plentiful full bodied rich thick smoke showing flavors of a creamy earth, sweet wood and a slight pepper and spice through the long finish. The first third continues the rich thick smoke and full flavors going to just a super smooth sweet creamy leather on the draw while the finish gets a bit shorter, still bringing out the pepper and spice at the rear. Hitting the 1/2 way point at 30 minutes flavors have completely shifted. It’s giving a charred, smoky chocolate on the draw while the finish goes to a deep smooth earth. The pepper and spice goes away and the performance is still excellent, taking body down a tick to medium-full. Rounding out at 1:05 minutes the last third holds the flavors while ramping up a big strength kick almost matching the body. Thank you very much to Ventura Cigar Co for sending this in for review!
