Felipe Gregorio Defiant SS Cigar Review
This 5×52 stick features a dark chocolate velvety smooth wrapper with a slight red hue, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, an even firm pack, triple cap and sweet hay aroma. First light reveals a good draw with medium bodied flavors of a sweet oily leather shifting to a deeper peppery earth through the finish. The first third burns slowly showing much the same performance, just ramping up the sweetness a bit on the draw. 40 minutes in, the burn reaches the 1/2 way point for the most part, needing a large touchup to even out. Burn so far has been poor, not wanting to stay lit, the wrapper being very thick and oily. Parts of it get crackly and split, others are squishy. Smoke output is minimal and you really have to work for it. When reaching the band, luckily the wrapper was far enough gone to not be an issue where it was split. Ending at 1:15 it showed no further changes all the way down. Thank you very much to Felipe Gregorio Cigars for providing this sample for review!
