Dona Flor Reserva Especial Robusto Cigar Review
This 5×52 stick features a dark brown rustic wrapper with medium veins, tight seams, large double cap, a slick dusty feel and sweet barnyard aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with plentiful medium bodied smoke output showing a smooth sweet earth all the way through the long finish. The first third burns very quickly with an uneven line but performs well. Flavors are down a tick to mild-medium body and the finish is very short and clean. Hitting the 1/2 way point at just 20 minutes, the burn evens out, the ash falls in a solid third chunk and the body is back to a medium. Flavors shift slightly dropping the earth for a creamy vanilla, while the natural sweetness comes up joined by a tobacco flavor, both of which carry through the again longer finish. Ending at 40 minutes the last third burns a touch slower while flavors remain mostly the same just toning down the vanilla. Thank you very much to Dona Flor cigars for sending this sample in!
