Dante Robusto Cigar Review
This 5×50 stick features a dark chocolate mottled wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, small holes tears and imperfections, triple cap, firm lumpy pack and a rich musty chocolate aroma. First light reveals a slightly snug draw with good medium bodied smoke output showing a huge black pepper blast with both the flavor and zing. A short earthiness is on the draw but then it’s like you took a pepper grinder and twisted it over your tongue until the next draw. The first third very quickly drops all interesting flavors, just going to a mild damp tobacco and ashtray aftertaste. The draw opened up to a good amount with a great burnline and smoke production, but flavors are a 180 from the first light. The 1/2 way point came and went with the same profile just adding a bit of strength that pretty much takes over the experience since flavors were so mild. It required a complete relight, just going out on it’s own. Ending at 40 minutes where it got hot on my lips, it proved to be exceptionally plain.
