Some of you may remember my rant a while back about not smoking the inventory from my local shops anymore because of piss poor storage and inconsistent results. With VERY few exceptions (Cigar Castle being one) that still holds true and I bring my own, making a purchase for each one of my own I bring when I go. Here’e a clear example of what I was talking about. This is a local shop that I just saw up for sale, they are asking $45k negotiable. The price is actually excellent, the inventory, liquor licence and air scrubbers alone are worth darn near that. BUT – take a look at the storage. Almost everything is just sitting on open shelves, exposed to the room air, outside air and all the smoke from patrons. One step up, but not much better, are those shops with similar setups but at least have sliding glass doors for the shelves. They don’t do a whole lot though. Unfortunately this is the norm in most shops. There seems to be a need for cigar lounge setup consultants! LINK
