Veritas Torch Connecticut Robusto Cigar Review
This 5×50 stick features a dark tan oily smooth wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, a closed foot, large double cap with pigtail and a soft woody aroma. First light reveals a fairly snug draw with good smoke output showing medium bodied flavors of a sweet tobacco on the draw and a tiny bit of pepper joining the smooth finish. The first third cuts the sweetness just leaving a big dry tobacco on the draw and the pepper builds on the finish but without any zing, just flavor. Construction is excellent, the draw opened up to normal. Hitting the 1/2 way point at 25 minutes the ash falls in a solid chunk, the sweetness is back joined by a nut and wood combo on the draw and the finish goes to a gritty earth. Ending at 55 minutes with an inch left where it started getting hot and washed out flavor wise, the last third showed no further changes. Thank you to Veritas Cigars for providing this sample for review!
