Hoyo de Monterrey Dark Sumatra Noche Cigar Review
This 6.5×52 stick features a very dark chocolate mottled wrapper with a firm pack, fine sand paper like tooth, slight oil sheen, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, double cap and rich musty pepper and earth aroma, under a cedar sleeve. First light reveals a perfect draw with plentiful thick medium bodied smoke showing a creamy earth and a light short finish. The first third burns quickly but perfectly, dropping the ash a couple inches in with a perfect burn line and draw. Flavors are the same but the finish is very dry and parching. Hitting the 1/2 way point at 35 minutes, the draw flavors get heavier with a deeper more substantial earth and the finish grows longer. Ending out at 1:05 the last third remained consistent with perfect performance and no strength. Thank you very much to Dexter Hicks for sending this sample in for review, I greatly appreciate it!
