Gurkha 125th Anniversary Edition Rothchild Cigar Review
This 6×54 stick features a dark tan dry slightly toothy wrapper with minimal veins, tight seams, triple cap, firm even pack and rich earth and hay aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with tons of thick, rich full bodied smoke output showing flavors of a zingy but smooth, substantial sweet earth with an oily finish leaving quite a heat on the lips. The first third develops very similarly, dropping down the spice kick a bit and bringing a little of a bread like taste just on the draw. Hitting the 1/2 way point 45 minutes in, the 2nd third changes up dropping the earth for a straight tobacco and slight woodiness, also dropping the sweetness and most of the spice leaving just a smooth plain tobacco finish. Construction is flawless. Hitting the band 55 minutes in flavors drop to pretty much just a plain tobacco and down to medium-full body. Ending at 1:20 the rest of the cigar was the same. Thank you very much to Gurkha for sending this in for review!
