La Palina Classic Robusto Cigar Review

This 5×52 stick features a dark tan, dry soft wrapper with a paper bag texture, minimal veins, tight seams, double cap, even slightly spongy pack and a hay & wood aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with plentiful rich smoke output giving medium bodied flavors of a peppery leather and tobacco with a zingy, slightly spicy gritty finish. The first third develops to a medium-full body experience showing flavors of a cedar and tobacco core with some creamy leather just on the draw while the finish goes peppery and spicy. hitting the half way point at 30 minutes in, flavors are largely unchanged, with the tobacco component coming to the forefront. The ash is delicate, holding on barely an inch at a time. By the start of the final third, body was down to medium while strength ramped up to medium-full giving quite a rush and the finish lost the pepper and spice growing short and smooth. Ending at 1:05 the last bit showed no further changes. Thank you to La Palina Cigars for sending this sample in for review!
