La Aurora Fernando Leon Family Reserve Robusto Cigar Review

This 5×50 stick features a dark brown firmly packed wrapper with minimal veins, tight seams, a sloppy triple cap and a pungent soapy barnyard aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with copious amounts of smoke output giving medium bodied flavors of a vegetable like grass and earth, with a long oily finish. The first third very quickly morphs to a medium-full body showing flavors of a creamy zingy light leather, with a long tingly finish. Hitting the 1/2 way point 35 minutes in, performance is excellent with the ash holding on in a solid chunk, and the only change being the addition of a smooth coffee flavor at the end of the draw lasting all through the finish. Ending at 1:15 the last bit showed no further flavor changes, just requiring one big touchup to correct a big side that didn’t want to catch up. Thank you very much to La Aurora for providing me this sample!
