Corona Cigar Company 10th Anniversary Tres Capas Double Phatt Cigar Review
This 6×54 stick features a unique blending of three wrappers, a Connecticut, a maduro and a candela, all spiraled and designed up and down the cigar. Overall it has a firm even pack, a dry paper bag like texture, triple cap and extremely pungent hay and manure aroma. First light reveals a good draw and smoke output giving mild-medium flavors of a dry, slightly sweet vegetable, earth and grass with a short somewhat oily and mild finish. The first third burns and transitions very slowly, dropping the grass for a vanilla undertone by 30 minutes in. Body is up to medium and the burn is a bit uneven. By the 1/2 way point at 40 minutes, the burn is better, smoke production is up and the flavor combinations are shifting frequently. The sweetness comes and goes, sometimes it’s gritty others it’s creamy and smooth. The earthy core is always there, and the finish is growing longer. Ending at 1:15 minutes, the last third continued the same shifts every couple draws. Thank you to Corona Cigar Co. for sending this sample for review!
