Illusione MJ12 Toro Gordo Maduro Cigar Review
This 6×54 stick features a very dark brown oily wrapper with a slick, rock hard pack, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, double cap and rich, burned hay and manure aroma. First light reveals a bold fully body blast of thick chewy smoke with flavors of a slightly sweet oiliness and smooth thick tobaccos with a long oily finish. Draw is perfect and smoke output is plentiful. The first third develops similar flavors, dropping the pepper zing but keeping the little bit of spiciness that goes very well with the oil on the finish. Core flavors are a medium-full bodied creamy light tobacco. 20 minutes in at the last bit of the 1st third, flavors morph to a soft creamy leather and a bit of the pepper zing comes back through the finish. Overall it’s mellowing out, body around a medium, smoke output down a bit but still burning well. 40 minutes in finishing the 2nd third, the leather changes to a deeper general earthiness and a little bit of strength kick has come up. Thank you very much to viewer Chaz for generously sending this sample in!
