House Resolution Chairman Maduro Cigar Review
This 5×56 is a joint effort by Corona Cigar Co. and J.C. Newman Cigars, to help support keeping the FDA out of the cigar biz. Each box sold sends a donation to the effort. It features a very dark oily wrapper with a slight tooth, firm dense pack, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, large double cap and very pungent hay and barn aroma. First light reveals an excellent draw with just the right touch of resistance, beautiful thick smoke output giving medium bodied flavors of a slightly sweet very creamy textured and smooth soft tobacco with a light short earthy finish. The first third builds on the same profile ramping it up to a medium-full body and adding a milk chocolate to the mix at the end of the draw through the long finish, which also has quite a spicy pepper zing. 30 minutes in at the 1/2 way point flavors are unchanged, construction is flawless and the ash is still hanging on solid as a rock. Ending at 50 minutes the last third drops the bit of sweetness bringing out more of the smooth earth, dropping the as finally at the band point. Thank you to Corona Cigar Company for sending this in for review!
