Ashton ESG 22 Year Salute Cigar Review
This 6×52 torpedo features a premium blend of tobacco and is a limited release. This has been aging in my humidor for 3 years since I bought it and features a dark milk chocolate wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, even slightly spongy give, light pack and rich pepper and cedar aroma. First light reveals an extremely loose draw with great smoke production, medium-full body flavors of a very smooth and complex tobacco, with a good bit of pepper zing and a deep heavy wood that goes through the long finish. The first third burns very quickly with much the same flavors, adding a rich smooth creaminess to the mix and a bit of sweetness at the end just before the 2nd third begins. The ash holds on the the 1/2 way point which comes at 30 minutes in, ramping up the sweetness a good notch, tasting like an aged bourbon. Ending at 1:10 minutes the last third continued the complex flavor profile and added a good strength kick giving me quite a rush and making me a bit dizzy!
