CAO Last Stick Standing: A Cigar Review
This is the second cigar of a special tri-pack available free through select CAO retailers with the purchase of any other 6 CAO cigars. The purpose is to smoke each of these new blends then rate them online, and enter a drawing to win cigars or a trip. I have been asked to provide a video for the website, and this will also be part of that video, along with an added segment where I actually voice my opinion after having all three, and cast my votes. It’s a 5.5×56 (approximate) cigar featuring a light tan wrapper with a smooth velvet feel, minimal veins, tight seams, double cap, very firm even pack and faint wood aroma. First light reveals a very loose draw with minimal smoke output, a very light woody flavor and short finish. The first third picks up very quickly after just a few draws increasing smoke output greatly, bringing a medium-full tangy allspice like taste with a gritty textured smoke and long sweet finish. 30 minutes in just starting the 2nd third, body is at a mild-medium and flavors change to a sweet creamy textured wood, with a dry parched finish going down the back of the throat. 40 minutes in just starting the last third near the band point, flavors completely transition again to a creamy textured soft nuttiness, dropping the gritty smoke feel. There is also the same notes of a spearmint like taste that came in about the same point in the C blend. Ending at 1:05 minutes the last third drops some of the mint and brings up the smooth creamy nut, holding a long warm finish.
