Gurkha Royal Challenge Robusto Cigar Review
This 5×50 cigar features a smooth tan wrapper with minimal veins, tight seams, double cap, soft even firm pack and faint hay and grass aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw and good thick smoke output, giving a mild-medium smoke of a silky smooth dry tobacco and slightly bitter grass, lasting long in to the finish. The first third develops to a creamy soft tobacco with a smooth but deep long finish. Still mild-medium, dropping the bitter grass it’s burning very well with a perfect draw and almost razor sharp burn. 45 minutes in just past the 1/2 way point flavors have shifted to a medium bodied smooth slightly sweet and creamy coffee, with a silky oily long finish and perfect construction. Ending at 1:10 min the last third needed a relight after the 2nd third ash dropped off but otherwise smoked fine. Flavors shifted away from the sweetness and coffee just going to a deep wood and tobacco with a heavy aftertaste. Thank you very much to Gurkha Cigars for generously sending this in for review!
