Bucanero Classico Maduro Robusto 10 Year Aged Cigar Review
This is a sample sent in by the winner of the Turkey Time 1 contest, Jay Givens, who was gracious enough to send a couple back for me to report on, since I have not had any! The contest announced they were Belicoso, and it’s actually a robusto, I’m not sure where the miscommunication was between Bucanero and myself, I swear they said Belicoso on the phone. But that’s neither here nor there, they are still fine 10 year humidor aged smokes no matter the roll! It features a very dark brown, toothy and very oily wrapper. It has minimal veins, tight invisible seams, an even just slightly spongy give, double cap and a faint musty tobacco and pepper aroma. First light reveals a slightly snug draw with great thick smoke output. Medium bodied flavors of a deep slightly leathery earth, very musty tobacco with a long oily finish. The first third burns a touch uneven but doesn’t need any work. It mellows a bit to a mild-medium body, just getting more soft and smooth. Overall it’s very similar to an out of the box Bucanero which are already using very well fermented and aged leaves. Thank you once again to Bucanero Cigars for the prize and Jay Givens for providing the sample!
