Tatuaje Black Tubos Cigar Review

Tatuaje Black Tubos Cigar Review

This 6×52 torpedo stick comes packaged in an aluminum tube and cedar wrap. It offers a dark chocolate wrapper with a slight red hue, a satin texture with very slight tooth, tight seams, minimal veins and a slight barnyard aroma. After toasting the closed foot and adjusting the head cut, the draw was perfect, smoke output was great and the flavors were dominated by a medium-full bodied smooth, rich pepper and spice. The first third develops to a light and airy leather with a deeper earthy pepper and spice, though not as intense as the first light. Smoke output is good with smooth rich smoke. Burn is ok, needing a touchup. The draw gets a bit snug and I clipped the head one more time. 30 minutes in at the 1/2 way point flavors have mellowed to a smooth creamy medium bodied smoke with a slight sweetness, earthy oily finish and good bit of pepper & spice. It is requiring a slight touchup every 10 min or so to prevent tunneling. Ending at 1 hour, the last third continues the same experience since the 1/2 mark, ending with a bit of power punch. Forcade Cigars Giralda Churchill Cigar Review

This 7×48 stick offers a light pack, smooth soft wrapping with tight seams and minimal veins. The aroma is a very pungent barnyard and chocolate. First light reveals a perfect draw, plenty of rich smoke giving a medium-full body and flavors of a rich slightly peppery tobacco with a long finish. The entire cigar was very consistent, giving the same flavors from first light ending at the 1 hour mark. Overall a very smooth smoke and great for any time of the day with a great bit of flavor and power. Thank you very much to Forcade Cigars for sending this sample for review! Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur Epicure Cigar Review

This 5.25×50 stick offers a firm slightly toothy golden brown wrapper with minimal veins tight seams and a double cap with a rich peppery tobacco aroma. First light reveals rich oily tobacco flavors with a good pepper kick, medium-full body and a long finish. The first third is creamy, rich, oily, holding the pepper and tobacco with a undertone of vanilla at points. The 2nd third mellows a bit losing a touch of power and body but keeping the oily richness. Flavors are a slightly peppery smooth tobacco with a long finish, perfect construction and 1″ ash chunks. The last third produces much of the same flavors, continuing the same great performance. Ending at 1:30 with over an inch left, it was just getting too warm for my taste. Photography by BG Pictures.

El Primer Mundo Connecticut Robusto Cigar Review

El Primer Mundo Connecticut Robusto Cigar Review

This 5×50 box pressed stick offers a medium tan wrapper with no visible veins, tight seams and an even slightly spongy give with a faint peppery tobacco aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with tons of rich almost chewy smoke production. Flavors come out as a slightly sweet nut with a hint of peppery tobacco and a long oily finish. The first third pulls the initial flavors to a creamy nut and a slightly peppery note that builds on the long finish. The 2nd third transitions to a light creamy leather and the finish drops the tobacco for more of the leather and pepper. The last third continues the perfect construction, bringing back the nut flavor, the whole stick being a solid medium body with no real power kick, just a flavorful anytime Connecticut experience. The ash held on to the 1/2 way point then to the top of the band with the total smoke time ending at 1:15. Thank you very much to El Primer Mundo Cigars for donating this sample for review! Tambo Perfecto Cigar Review

Tambo Perfecto Cigar Review

This 6×48 perfecto stick comes wrapped in a very firm, mottled light brown wrapper with slight tooth, smooth seams and a mild tobacco aroma. Without cutting the foot which is a very small tapered point, the draw is firm for the first few draws but quickly develops to a perfect balance of resistance. Flavors are a light leather and aged tobacco. A creamy, smooth oily core, medium-full bodied with adequate smoke output and a very short, clean finish. By the 2nd third flavors had grown more deep and power rose to meet the near full body. Showing a deep heavy leather, it was increasingly oily and smooth with a better smoke output. The finish had grown long and full as well carrying the same draw flavors. Taking the band off did reveal a glob of glue that took a chunk of wrapper, but luckily the binder held. The rest of the stick was consistent – very smooth, rich and enjoyable to the 1:20 mark where I ended it with about 1″ left but it was hot to me. Thank you very much to Tambo Cigars for sending this for review! Photography by BG Pictures.

Padilla Dominus Robusto Cigar Review

This 5×50 stick offered a medium chocolate wrapper with minimal veins, a very soft silky feel and a floral aroma. Body was medium-full giving rich smooth flavors all the way down with a good bit of power, but never overwhelming. Total burn time was just under 1 hour burning very well with a draw on the firm side. Smoke output was very good, filling the mouth with flavors of creamy leather, mild earthiness, hints of cinnamon and pepper in the first 1/2, transitioning to a dry mildly sweet cocoa with a long finish of the same. Thank you very much to Ken Glass for sending this in for review! Photography by BG Pictures.

La Aroma De Cuba Edicion Especial Lancero Cigar Review

La Aroma De Cuba Edicion Especial Lancero Cigar Review

This 7.5×38 medium tan stick offers a smooth almost seamless wrapper with a triple cap and very small veins with firm construction. Overall a medium body stick it packs a medium-full power kick, giving a slight buzz about 1/2 way through. Flavors were extremely smooth from first light to the nub and included a creamy leather, vanilla, roasted nuts, dry tobacco and a pepper & spice kick at various points throughout. Burn was excellent, holding 1″ of ash at a time with a perfect draw just slightly on the firm side. Total burn time to the last inch was 1:20 where it started to get warm. The amount of buzz I received during this video may have been mitigated if I had not chosen this as my ‘just rolled out of bed cigar’. I would not suggest doing as I did :) Thank you very much to Ashton Cigars for generously donating this for review! Photography by BG Pictures.
