IPCPR DEBUT OF MOOCH® STRIKES CHORD WITH RETAILERS
‘Everyday’ Cigar Brand Delivers Uncompromising Value and Craftsmanship
MIAMI – Berger & Argenti Premium Cigars announced that the unveiling of its new modestly priced MOOCH® cigar brand was a smash success at the 78th annual IPCPR Convention and Trade Show held August 9-13 in New Orleans. MOOCH will be available at fine tobacconists throughout the U.S this month.
MOOCH® is a medium-bodied, rich and creamy smoking experience that, along with the Berger & Argenti CLASICO®, represents the best value in the premium long-filler cigar market. Produced with a flavorful Nicaraguan Cuban seed filler and binder crop and enveloped in a sun-grown Ecuador Connecticut Seed wrapper, MOOCH® is aimed to appeal to the ‘everyday’ cigar enthusiast with suggested retail price points ranging from $3.99 to $5.79 per cigar, offering superior value and indisputable affordability for a completely handcrafted, long filler cigar brand.
“This brand is meant to fit the budget of consumers who want to enjoy the admirable everyday pursuit of smoking premium cigars yet have to deal with harsh economic realities each time they make a purchase,†stated Albert Argenti, vice president and co-founder of Berger & Argenti, Inc. “Whether it’s the current economic climate in this country or residing in an area where the tax burden on cigars is ridiculously high, I believe MOOCH® will not only ease the burden on their wallet, but also be greatly appreciated for its exceptional flavor and craftsmanship.â€
MOOCH® is available in four uniquely christened sizes: ‘Minnie’ (4 ¾â€x 42 Corona); ‘Schnorr’ (5†x 50 Robusto); ‘Loll (6†x 52 Belicoso); and ‘Windbag’ (7†x 49 Churchill). Thirty (30) MOOCH® cigars are delicately packaged in perforated Spanish cedar boxes. Tobacconists may also opt to dispense MOOCH® cigars in an eye-catching, space-saving display tray.
“I wanted this fantastic new brand to have thirty cigars in a box because of the ‘mooch factor’ when entertaining friends and colleaguesâ€, continued Argenti. “Twenty cigars were never enough. But at these price points, I suppose cigar mooches can get their own now.â€

Xerez Corona Cigar Review
Xerez Corona Cigar Review
This 5.5×44 bundle stick offers a medium chocolate wrapper with a soft spongy feel and many blemishes. Definitely not a premium stick but an average looking $1.xx cheap stick. Burn was very fast, the cherry moving quickly with each draw and the whole smoke lasting just 40 min. Smoke output was exceptional proving tons of rich flavor and volume from the perfect easy draw from the very first puff. Unlike most cheap sticks this one is on the medium-full side of the spectrum both in body and strength. Flavors were consistent showing a peppery tobacco and touch of zesty leather with a short peppery finish and bit of oil on the lips. This is a mixed filler cigar and the ash held for about 3/4″ at a time. Thank you very much to Berger & Argenti for donating this for review!
Berger & Argenti Clasico Belicoso Cigar Review
Berger & Argenti Clasico Belicoso Cigar Review
This 5.75×50 stick offered a tan, textured but firm wrapper, with a nice tobacco aroma. Total burn time was 1:45 just past the band point, and it was almost razor sharp all the way down. The ash was light grey and white, holding on 1 1/2″ at a time. The draw was VERY loose but produced huge amounts of rich smoke with no effort at all. It was very surprising to get that much smoke and flavor for so long with such a free draw! The flavors were very consistent, dominated by a smooth creamy cocoa, medium-full in body. The first two thirds offered a nice pepper and spice zing on the finish, giving way to just a long creamy finish at the end. Thank you very much to Berger & Argenti for donating this sample for review! Photography by BG Pictures.

Berger & Argenti Exile Wired Rothschild Cigar Review
This 5×54 stick offered a significant power punch with smooth and mellow flavors. Construction was excellent with a great burn and draw all the way down, on the loose side with just the right amount of resistance. Smoke time was just over two hours and you REALLY don’t want to rush it any more than that. Body was a solid medium with smooth flavors of tobacco and leather with a nice little pepper and spice kick on to the long finish. The flavors were pretty consistent all the way down, and the strength was very full, giving me a bit of a rush from the very start. This is definitely a stick to sit down with and RELAX and enjoy! Thank you very much to Berger & Argenti for generously donating this for review, it is as always, greatly appreciated! To get your hands on these please contact them directly at 1-800-815-1155.
Berger & Argenti Exile Perfection2 Cigar Review
This 7×49 stick offers a unique packaging approach, putting a faux newspaper clipping around the foot as a little twister for effect. The aroma is of cocoa and the stick is firm and satiny with just a little texture to the wrapper. Draw was perfect with just the right amount of resistance for a slow smooth approach. Burn was excellent all the way down to the band point where unfortunately a small tear in the wrapper from a glue glob under the band prompted the finish of the smoke, at the 1:45 point. Had that not occurred this would have been a 2+ hour cigar easily. Body and strength were paired and varied slightly from beginning to end, finishing up at medium-full. Flavors included coffee at points, cocoa on the second half, slight wood notes up front and a touch of oil and pepper on the finish which was clean and short. Thank you very much to Berger & Argenti for generously donating this stick for review, it is greatly appreciated!
