IPCPR DEBUT OF MOOCH® STRIKES CHORD WITH RETAILERS
‘Everyday’ Cigar Brand Delivers Uncompromising Value and Craftsmanship

MIAMI – Berger & Argenti Premium Cigars announced that the unveiling of its new modestly priced MOOCH® cigar brand was a smash success at the 78th annual IPCPR Convention and Trade Show held August 9-13 in New Orleans. MOOCH will be available at fine tobacconists throughout the U.S this month.

MOOCH® is a medium-bodied, rich and creamy smoking experience that, along with the Berger & Argenti CLASICO®, represents the best value in the premium long-filler cigar market. Produced with a flavorful Nicaraguan Cuban seed filler and binder crop and enveloped in a sun-grown Ecuador Connecticut Seed wrapper, MOOCH® is aimed to appeal to the ‘everyday’ cigar enthusiast with suggested retail price points ranging from $3.99 to $5.79 per cigar, offering superior value and indisputable affordability for a completely handcrafted, long filler cigar brand.

“This brand is meant to fit the budget of consumers who want to enjoy the admirable everyday pursuit of smoking premium cigars yet have to deal with harsh economic realities each time they make a purchase,” stated Albert Argenti, vice president and co-founder of Berger & Argenti, Inc. “Whether it’s the current economic climate in this country or residing in an area where the tax burden on cigars is ridiculously high, I believe MOOCH® will not only ease the burden on their wallet, but also be greatly appreciated for its exceptional flavor and craftsmanship.”

MOOCH® is available in four uniquely christened sizes: ‘Minnie’ (4 ¾”x 42 Corona); ‘Schnorr’ (5” x 50 Robusto); ‘Loll (6” x 52 Belicoso); and ‘Windbag’ (7” x 49 Churchill). Thirty (30) MOOCH® cigars are delicately packaged in perforated Spanish cedar boxes. Tobacconists may also opt to dispense MOOCH® cigars in an eye-catching, space-saving display tray.

“I wanted this fantastic new brand to have thirty cigars in a box because of the ‘mooch factor’ when entertaining friends and colleagues”, continued Argenti. “Twenty cigars were never enough. But at these price points, I suppose cigar mooches can get their own now.”

ENTUBAR® QUAD MADURO LIGHTS UP IPCPR NEW ORLEANS

MIAMI – Berger & Argenti Premium Cigars announced the debut of ENTUBAR® QUAD MADURO at the 78th IPCPR Convention and Trade Show in New Orleans, LA was an overwhelming success and enthusiastically received by retailers and consumers alike.

ENTUBAR® QUAD MADURO is a full-bodied, super-premium extension of the sensational ENTUBAR® cigar brand which was unveiled to the public a year ago at IPCPR. Like ENTUBAR®, the QUAD MADURO pays tribute to the time-honored Cuban cigar making technique known as ‘entubar’ while also establishing a revolutionary new process of manufacturing premium cigars.

Each deeply aged Nicaraguan filler leaf that comprises the ENTUBAR® QUAD MADURO blend is carefully rolled creating delicate ‘scrolls’ of rich, flavorful tobacco. This age-old method ensures open chambers of air flow from the foot to the head of the cigar. The ligero tobacco, which lends the cigar its unique full body, are bunched independently and then placed into the center of the remaining ‘entubar’ rolled filler blend. This ‘channel’ of ligero tobacco ranges the full length of the cigar and extends ¼” beyond the finished trimmed foot, creating a startlingly unique ‘fuse like’ appearance that assures a superior draw, flawless conical burn with a long white ash, and a myriad of complex flavors channeled directly onto the palate. ENTUBAR® QUAD MADURO is ‘cuadrado’ pressed Habano and comprised of all Cuban-seed Nicaraguan (viso and ligero) and Dominican (seco) fillers, a savory Nicaraguan binder, and skillfully enveloped in a rich, dark Jalapa Valley-grown Maduro wrapper crop aged eight years in seasoned oak barrels.

Due to the meticulous small batch production of ENTUBAR® QUAD MADURO, only ‘friends’ and authorized ENTUBAR® merchants in the United States will have access to the brand. ENTUBAR® QUAD MADURO is delicately packaged in rustic Spanish cedar boxes of 20 cigars and available in four (4) distinct vitolas characterized by sumptuously large ring gauges: Corona Macho (4 5/8” x 48); Robusto (5 3/8” x 54); Double Corona (7 5/8” x 54); and Torpedo (6 7/8” x 56).

Xerez Corona Cigar Review

Xerez Corona Cigar Review

This 5.5×44 bundle stick offers a medium chocolate wrapper with a soft spongy feel and many blemishes. Definitely not a premium stick but an average looking $1.xx cheap stick. Burn was very fast, the cherry moving quickly with each draw and the whole smoke lasting just 40 min. Smoke output was exceptional proving tons of rich flavor and volume from the perfect easy draw from the very first puff. Unlike most cheap sticks this one is on the medium-full side of the spectrum both in body and strength. Flavors were consistent showing a peppery tobacco and touch of zesty leather with a short peppery finish and bit of oil on the lips. This is a mixed filler cigar and the ash held for about 3/4″ at a time. Thank you very much to Berger & Argenti for donating this for review!

Berger & Argenti Clasico Belicoso Cigar Review

Berger & Argenti Clasico Belicoso Cigar Review

This 5.75×50 stick offered a tan, textured but firm wrapper, with a nice tobacco aroma. Total burn time was 1:45 just past the band point, and it was almost razor sharp all the way down. The ash was light grey and white, holding on 1 1/2″ at a time. The draw was VERY loose but produced huge amounts of rich smoke with no effort at all. It was very surprising to get that much smoke and flavor for so long with such a free draw! The flavors were very consistent, dominated by a smooth creamy cocoa, medium-full in body. The first two thirds offered a nice pepper and spice zing on the finish, giving way to just a long creamy finish at the end. Thank you very much to Berger & Argenti for donating this sample for review! Photography by BG Pictures.

Berger & Argenti Entubar Robusto Cigar Review

Berger & Argenti Entubar Robusto Cigar Review

This 5 1/4 x 54 stick offered a very consistent flavor profile of deep rich tobacco flavor with touches of leather in the first 1/2 and a bit of barnyard appearing through the second. The finish was very long with a mild pepper flavor and tingle on the tongue. The draw was on the loose side with the perfect amount of resistance for a smooth burn all the way down. The ash was remarkable for holding on to about 4″ before falling off in one large column. Total smoke time was 1 1/2 hours to the nub with 1″ remaining, also fairly remarkable in the fact that it stayed consistent in flavor and temperature all the way to that nub. Thank you very much to Berger & Argenti for generously donating this stick for review, it is greatly appreciated! Photography by BG Pictures.

BERGER & ARGENTI ENTUBAR® A HIT AT IPCPR NEW ORLEANS

MIAMI – Berger & Argenti Premium Cigars announced that the widely anticipated release of ENTUBAR® at the 77th Annual IPCPR Convention and Trade Show in New Orleans, LA was a sensational success and enthusiastically received by retailers and consumers alike.

ENTUBAR® is a full-bodied, super-premium cigar brand that merges ‘Old World’ cigar making with ‘New World’ innovation. ENTUBAR® is a revolutionary creation that pays tribute to the time-honored Cuban cigar making technique known as ‘entubar’ while also establishing an innovative patent-pending process of cigar manufacturing not seen in the premium cigar industry before.

Each deeply aged Nicaraguan filler leaf is carefully rolled into itself creating delicate ‘scrolls’ of rich, flavorful tobacco. This age-old method ensures open chambers of air flow from the foot to the head of the cigar, creating a superior draw. What makes this new brand truly stand out from all others is the unprecedented process and appearance of the ENTUBAR® cigar. The ligero tobacco leaves that lend the cigar its unique full body is bunched ‘entubar’ independently from the rest of the blend before it’s ‘re-bunched’ directly into the center of the remaining ‘entubar’ rolled filler blend. This ligero ‘channel’ ranges the full length of the cigar and extends¼Ã¢â‚¬Â beyond the finished trimmed foot, creating a startlingly unique ‘fuse like’ appearance that virtually assures a perfect, conical burn with a long white ash.

Due to the meticulous small batch production of ENTUBAR®, only 150 of the finest tobacconists will be authorized as ENTUBAR® merchants in the United States. Shipment of the new brand will commence in mid-October. Comprised of all Cuban seed Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos, ENTUBAR® is graced with an Ecuadorian ‘Desflorado’ Connecticut-seed wrapper which lends its characteristically long, sweet finish.

ENTUBAR® is available in four (4) unique vitolas characterized by sumptuously large ring gauges: Robusto (5” x 54); Double Corona (7½Ã¢â‚¬Â x 54); Torpedo (6¾Ã¢â‚¬Â x 56) and Gran Toro (6½Ã¢â‚¬Â x 64) Available in rustic Spanish cedar boxes of 20 cigars, the suggested retail price of each cigar ranges from $8.99 to $11.99.

Manuel Medina, Berger & Argenti’s production supervisor and Grade Seven master tabaquero whose industry experience spans over 60 years including supervising production at Havana’s famed Partagas cigar factory, says he was ‘astounded’ when Michael Argenti first brought his plans for ENTUBAR® to him. “What Michael Argenti has done with the creation of this cigar is nothing I have seen or even dreamed of. I am very proud to help produce ENTUBAR® because it marries the ‘Cuban way’ of making cigars with new philosophies of making a perfect cigar smoking experience. It’s a revolutionary new concept I’m proud to be associated with.”

Berger & Argenti Premium Cigars is a privately-held company headquartered in Miami, Florida with agricultural and production facilities in Esteli, Nicaragua. The company serves as the exclusive manufacturer, importer and distributor of world-class, super-premium cigar brands including ENTUBAR®, CLASICO®, EXILE®, EXILE® Wired and Rodrigo de Xerez®. Berger & Argenti Exile Wired Rothschild Cigar Review

Posted on Friday, September 11, 2009 in Cigar Reviews

This 5×54 stick offered a significant power punch with smooth and mellow flavors. Construction was excellent with a great burn and draw all the way down, on the loose side with just the right amount of resistance. Smoke time was just over two hours and you REALLY don’t want to rush it any more than that. Body was a solid medium with smooth flavors of tobacco and leather with a nice little pepper and spice kick on to the long finish. The flavors were pretty consistent all the way down, and the strength was very full, giving me a bit of a rush from the very start. This is definitely a stick to sit down with and RELAX and enjoy! Thank you very much to Berger & Argenti for generously donating this for review, it is as always, greatly appreciated! To get your hands on these please contact them directly at 1-800-815-1155.

Berger & Argenti Exile Perfection2 Cigar Review

Posted on Friday, September 4, 2009 in Cigar Reviews

This 7×49 stick offers a unique packaging approach, putting a faux newspaper clipping around the foot as a little twister for effect. The aroma is of cocoa and the stick is firm and satiny with just a little texture to the wrapper. Draw was perfect with just the right amount of resistance for a slow smooth approach. Burn was excellent all the way down to the band point where unfortunately a small tear in the wrapper from a glue glob under the band prompted the finish of the smoke, at the 1:45 point. Had that not occurred this would have been a 2+ hour cigar easily. Body and strength were paired and varied slightly from beginning to end, finishing up at medium-full. Flavors included coffee at points, cocoa on the second half, slight wood notes up front and a touch of oil and pepper on the finish which was clean and short. Thank you very much to Berger & Argenti for generously donating this stick for review, it is greatly appreciated!
