Arturo Fuente Chateau Fuente Belicoso Cigar Review

This 5.75×52 torpedo shaped dark chocolate stick features a soft sily texture with minimal veins, invisible seams, an even slightly spongy give and slight barnyard aroma. First light reveals a big peppery tobacco taste, rich smooth and creamy textured with a perfect draw and plentiful thick smoke output. The first third goes mostly to a dry peppery tobacco, needing a slight touchup but otherwise burning very well and very slow. The ash is a bit flaky, so watch it if you in the car or whatnot. 1 hour in at the 1/2 way point, flavors remain unchanged. Ending at 1:25 the last bit added a tiny bit of cocoa but for the most part was very consistent with the first part of the cigar. Strength wise it did sneak up on me, I really felt it for 15 minutes after I was done with the smoke. Thank you very much to Jeremie Plouffe for generously sending this in!

Bucanero Classico Maduro Belicoso Cigar Review

This 6×54 cigar features a dark chocolate wrapper with an even slightly spongy give, minimal veins, invisible seams, a satin feel and soapy aromatic scent. First light reveals a great amount of creamy textured medium bodied smoke with flavors of a very dry, smooth almost musty and bitter tobacco but also with a little sweetness. The first third develops to a creamy, oily, smooth aged tobacco taste with just a touch of the mustiness that goes with aged leaves. The finish is long and smooth as well, keeping the creamy oily texture in the mouth. The burn is almost perfect and the draw has just the right resistance. The 1/2 way point came at 40 minutes with no change in performance at all, a very consistent experience. Ending at 1 hour, the cigar proved to hold the same flavors from start to finish.

Old Henry Gold label Belicoso Cigar Review

This 5.5×52 torpedo shaped Connecticut stick offers a very soft medium tan wrapper wit minimal veins, tight seams and a slightly sweet soft tobacco aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw, great smoke output, on the tick side. Flavors are a mild-medium slightly sweet and dry tobacco with a creamy texture. The first third shows smooth flavors of a creamy cinnamon with a bit of leather. The finish is mild but long lasting to the next draw with a dry tobacco taste. Burn is almost razor sharp, draw is still perfect and the smoke is rich and thick. The 2nd third shows a bigger medium body flavor of predominantly a wood, going a bit deeper but still carrying the 1st third flavors. 35 min in at the start of the last third, it transitions back to the same creamy cinnamon as the start, but keeps the bigger medium body. Near the end of the stick I noticed a strange sensation on my tongue that turned out to be huge amounts of tar coming through the tip. I wiped it off and was careful not to lick it for the remainder of the cigar. Ending at 45 min the last third showed no further flavor changes. Thank you very much to Holts.com for generously sending this for review!

Monte Pascoal Belicoso Cigar Review

This 5.5×52 torpedo sized stick offers a dark tan wrapper with a slight red hue, small and medium veins, some surface spots and flaws, invisible seams and firm even construction. It puts off a rich soft tobacco aroma and has a light heft. First light reveals a bitter grass taste with a touch of sweet on the finish. The draw is perfect, smoke output is very good. The burn is a little wonky with a couple veins catching and burning down rapidly in a line. The first third develops nicely, easing on the bitterness and coming with a creamy leather profile. Medium bodied, it is smooth and rich with great smoke output, a long finish and even burn. 30 min in at the 1/2 way point, the first third ended on a very nice note of creamy leather. The 2nd third develops in to a smoky tobacco flavor with a hint of sweetness that changes to caramel by the start of the last third, bringing an earthiness along as well. Ending at 1:10 min, the flavors in the last third were unchanged. Thank you very much to CigarsFromBrazil.com for sending this sample for review, I appreciate it!

Drew Estate Acid Blondie Belicoso Cigar Review

NOTE: OK I totally goofed on this and had the mic off for filming :( This is why I ask for multiple samples just in case something goes wrong (usually it’s the cigar’s fault but *stuff* happens on my end too). Unfortunately though only one sample was sent, so you’ll have to make due with just a written review for now.

This 5×54 torpedo is of the blue line from Acid and is flavor infused.  It has a thin medium tan wrapper with just a bit of tooth, almost no veins and tight seams.  The aroma is unique.  Acid cigars are infused with oils, and this smells like something for Christmas.  Very herbally, like sweet potpourii, vanilla extract, sandalwood, etc.  First light reveals a great draw, plenty of light smoke and a very oily sweet flavor much like glycerin.  A bit of the potpourri flavor is there, but it’s mostly just sugar.  The first third develops in to just a good amount of syrupy sweetness and a touch of the sandalwood.  The finish is fairly long and overall it’s a medium body smoke.  Smoke production and draw are fantastic, both easy and plentiful.  25 min in at the 1/2 way point the flavors have changed to become a deep earth and wood, while the special flavors are still there but only come out on the long finish.  Finishing at 45 min to the nub, the last third was the same since the 1/2 way point.  Thank you very much to Thompson Cigars for generously sending this for review!

Ashton Cabinet Selection Pyramid Cigar Review

Ashton Cabinet Selection Pyramid Cigar Review

Sorry, I goofed on the pics from this one and formatted the wrong card :( This 6×52 belicoso shaped stick offers a silky soft light tan wrapper with minimal veins, a slight spongy feel and light barnyard aroma. First light gives a small amount of smoke but it’s extremely thick and chewy, leaving a heavy oily feeling. Flavors are a slight grass, cedar, and touch of tobacco. Taking a third clip off the head really freed the draw to a normal level and increased smoke and body to a much better medium. From the 1/2 way point at 45 min in through to the end at 1:15 flavors took on a creamy slightly sweet light coffee flavor, still with a rich thick smoke. The finish slowly increased carrying the creamy coffee with it. Than you very much to Ashton for sending this for review!

Augusto Reyes Maduro Belicoso Cigar Review

Augusto Reyes Maduro Belicoso Cigar Review

This 6.5×54 dark chocolate wrapped stick offered a fuzzy, very toothy firm feel with a rich oily cocoa aroma. First light reveals a very tight draw, hardly any smoke or flavor. What is there is just a mild tobacco, although oily and smooth. Taking a 2nd cut off the head opened up the draw to a normal level, just on the snug side. Smoke production improved, although still not voluminous by any means. Flavors were a medium bodied burned coffee, oily slightly sweet tobacco with a finish of slight black pepper flavor and zing. The stick didn’t want to burn evenly, the wrapper falling behind every 10 draws or so and required frequent relights and touchups. After a fresh light the flavors were very rewarding with a creamy, oily coffee and cocoa and slight peppery finish. As the burn deteriorated though, it slid toward the mild side with less smoke output and a general earthy core. The stick continued from here to 1:30 where it had a little over 1″ remaining but probably due to multiple relights, got very hot a bit early. Thank you very much to Ken Glass for sending this for review, I greatly appreciate it!

La Aurora Belicoso Maduro Cigar Review

This 6.25×52 stick offers a dark brown wrapper showing minimal veins, clean seams and a very firm pack. 3/4″ had to be clipped off the tip for a decent draw, producing just an average amount of smoke on the draw. First third flavors were of caramel and licorice sweetness, a mild earth, slight woodiness and small pepper and spice kick on the long finish. At the half way point flavors changed to a smooth oily, creamy leather with a mild pepper that kicks up on the finish. In the final third flavors remained the same while the draw improved along with smoke production, reaching a very good volume pushing chewy. Thank you very much to viewer Jeremie Plouffe for generously sending this in for review!

Man O’War Ruination Belicoso Cigar Review

This 5.7×56 stick offers a dark and oily wrapper with fairly firm construction, small veins and tight seams. Draw was perfect and the burn was very good all the way down, holding long tight ashes. The first inch had quite a spice kick with a smooth tobacco core and long finish. It then transitioned to flavors including coffee, chocolate, licorice, sweetness and left a long finish of oily tobacco and deep espresso. Body was medium-full with rich thick smoke while strength was pushing full. After the video I did have a jittery buzz for 30 min or so. Total burn time was 1:15 to the nub. Thank you very much to Chaz from Long Island, a fan of the site for generously sending me this to try!

Berger & Argenti Clasico Belicoso Cigar Review

This 5.75×50 stick offered a tan, textured but firm wrapper, with a nice tobacco aroma. Total burn time was 1:45 just past the band point, and it was almost razor sharp all the way down. The ash was light grey and white, holding on 1 1/2″ at a time. The draw was VERY loose but produced huge amounts of rich smoke with no effort at all. It was very surprising to get that much smoke and flavor for so long with such a free draw! The flavors were very consistent, dominated by a smooth creamy cocoa, medium-full in body. The first two thirds offered a nice pepper and spice zing on the finish, giving way to just a long creamy finish at the end. Thank you very much to Berger & Argenti for donating this sample for review! Photography by BG Pictures.
