Guy Stuff – Penguin Gazebo Assembly Notes and Review

Posted on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 in Guy Stuff

IMG_0281A number of you have been following the build of the new setup and said you wanted to get one of these gazebos or my opinion of it. Since I couldn’t find anything online about it I thought while my thoughts are fresh I’d share some pros and cons. I just finished the assembly today so here’s all the major points I could remember. Bottom line I do recommend it, it’s a major pita to build but once up it’s super slick. I got it on Amazon. This is a Penguin 12×16′ 4 season gazebo. (more…)

141104cs0001-EditThis is a hellagood meal to make for yourself or a bunch of others. It scales very well and reheats even better :) You can make it hot like I did or back it down or change it up! It’s fast and easy but can be a bit expensive, just try and get a deal on the shrimp.

You’ll need:
raw shrimp peeled tail off
cayenne pepper
red bell peppers

Guy Stuff: BBQ Buffalo Chicken Lasagna

Posted on Monday, September 22, 2014 in Guy Stuff

OK ladies and gents, time for a new recipe! Guy stuff makes a return by popular demand :) This time it’s a VERY filling meal for any buffalo chicken wing lovers out there. This is cheap and easy to make, barely any prep it just takes time. Time to enjoy a beer and cigar! Obviously I’m using the BBQ but you could do this all on the stove and in the oven just as well. But that wouldn’t be as manly! I made a big family portion that serves at least 10. You can cut everything in 1/2 and use a smaller pan.

2 whole chickens
16 oz Cream cheese
2 large buffalo chicken Franks sauce
1/2 stick butter
1 Package of lasagna noodles
1 White onion
2-4 cloves minced garlic (to taste)
2 bottles of good Blue Cheese dressing/dip
1-2 lbs. mozzarella cheese

Guy Stuff How To Do A Brake Job

Posted on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in Guy Stuff

Untitled-1This was originally going to be a tidbit video on my HLO channel but a couple people suggested it would be a good fit for Guy Stuff, so why not! I know, you don’t have to say it – 48 min for a brake job vid?! Well it’s not just the quick 10 step how to vid like most out there. I speed some parts up but take you through the basics, show you some common problems, explain why you want to do certain things, explain how it all works and try to give a little education along the way :) This vid will cover the vast majority of vehicles on the road, so you don’t need to be working on a 2012 Kia Soul like mine. There’s absolutely nothing special about this car, it’s a simple single piston disc brake model and I give it a little upgrade. The car originally came from Ohio so it had a bit of a rust problem on some of the stock parts, and I show you how to deal with those too. Every guy needs to know how to do basic car repair!

EDIT: To everyone with an opinion on everything – consider there is info you are not aware of before posting. For example the torque wrench you see me use is simply an old unit I keep around for use as a breaker bar/lug wrench. Not all cars come with one – such as the Soul and my previous MINIs, you have to provide your own. (more…)

CO Guy Stuff – 2012 vs 2013 Google Nexus 7 Tablet Comparison

Posted on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in Guy Stuff

Untitled-1CO Guy Stuff – 2012 vs 2013 Google Nexus 7 Tablet Comparison

I recently upgraded from the 2012 to 2013 Nexus 7 tablet and wanted to run through a bunch of real world stuff so anyone that’s looking to possibly upgrade, or is deciding on getting the new or old while they are still blowing out stock cheap could have a very informed choice. I use it nearly every day quite extensively both for business and personal use, and show you all the stuff that’s obvious when using some apps, mention a few points about the physical changes and give you a lot of my impressions. It’s certainly not a clear cut choice since overall the difference is small. But one or more of the points I make might resonate with you to be a game changer like they were for me! (more…)

Guy Stuff – Smoked Turkey Sausage And Cajun Shrimp Gumbo Over Rice

20130826gumbo0002-EditMixing a little cajun creole and gumbo together, this is a very spicy but not fire-breathing way to get some awesome flavors goin! Smoking the sausage gives you absolutely delicious layers of flavor and texture, and the best part is none of the heat goes away in the fridge after reheating unlike using dry spices. Feel free to use fillings of your choice, crawfish would be excellent or even adding some sweet corn to the pot. But this is a sure fire hit for anyone that loves bold flavor, spices and filing but surprisingly light good eats!

Posted on Friday, August 16, 2013 in Guy Stuff

20130725fss0003-EditWhile I was in Vegas we splurged one night, eating at an Italian place in the Venetian. I had one of the most scrumptious sauces ever, on a seafood fettuccine. It was infused with smoky salmon goodness and I thought – hey, I can do this! It reheats very well, I’ve been eating it for days now!

Guy Stuff – Crab Stuffed Salmon On The BBQ

Posted on Sunday, June 30, 2013 in Guy Stuff

20130614css0001-EditMixing two of my favorite seafoods, especially on the grill, we have the sweet succulent flavors of the crab meant mixing with the oily goodness of the flaky salmon! No added salt to this makes it very healthy! Easy to make I pair it with my home made hot fries, again with no salt, and do them along side the fish also on the grill! No mess, quick and easy, try it now :)
