Herrera Esteli Norteño 2015 Edición Limitada Churchill – This 7×48 box pressed stick features a very dark chocolate softly packed, oily, slightly toothy wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, triple cap, sweet barnyard aroma and a unique flattened oval shape.  First light reveals a perfect draw with plentiful thick rich medium-full smooth smoke with flavors of a deep oily earth, straight tobacco and slightly bitter coco all on a long full finish.  The first third comes down to a medium body dropping the little bitterness and smoothing everything out.  Burn is wonky but the draw is perfect holding a 2″ ash.  The 1/2 way point hits at 35 minutes mellowing flavors even further to a mild-medium, lightening the earthiness and adding a slight natural sweetness.  Ending at 1:10 the last third came back to a medium going to a dark roast coffee, slight cocoa and deep earth finish.

Bryan, I’ve smoked a box of these, and occasionally, you get one that is light years ahead of the others in the taste department: marshmallows and graham crackers (I’m not joking). I wish they all tasted so good. It’s like smoking your dessert.
