Fuente Fuente Opus X Lost City Robusto Cigar Review

This 5.2×50 stick features a dark brown wrapper with a buttery soft firmly packed wrapper, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, triple cap and a faint sweet cedar aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with plumes of rich smoke showing a smooth woodsy note on the draw and a bit of pepper bite on the oily finish. The first third quickly builds in intensity to a medium-full body while the flavors amp up. A spicy pepper and oak dominate through the draw and long finish, never letting up to the next draw. Construction is very good with almost a razor sharp burnline. The 1/2 way point comes at 35 minutes with no big flavor shift but the strength is rising to a medium level. The bands come off unfortunately with a blog of glue taking a chunk of wrapper with it. Ending at just over an hour the last third showed no further changes, holding the ash in 1.5″ chunks with a great burn all the way down.

Definitely be watching this tomorrow at the fire station…..while I enjoy a don pepin garcia “blue label” lancero. I like the lost city opus x. My favorite would have to be the Angels Share though.

    • Paul

We have the exact same taste. The Lost City lance is AMAZING. If they made an Angel’s Share lance… it would be all over for my wallet.

      • kellyj

oh yeah….I love lanceros….my wallet and wife just don’t understand!!

  • yosef5

Well it is a good stick but out of my pricing
    Maybe some day

What happened to the “cheap floor-swept, ‘not even short-filler,’ ‘bait-n-switch”” video?

  • JOSEPH BATH

i recently received a special offer from cigar.com and the quality was similar to the floor sweep
cigar on the recent video. is cigar.com and cigar international one and the same ??

  • dantheman1451

Bryan, awesome review, Cigar is out of my price range.

  • Bart

Why did you delete post and video about rebranded CI cigars? At least you should post info why you deleted it – I know that maybe you made a fuss too quickly but you got to explain now what happened!

    • Paul

He said “legal threat.” Pretty clear that a lawyer sent him a nastygram and it wasn’t worth the trouble to leave it up. The word is out, and that’s the important thing.

      • Greg Bellante

Ah!! Ty Paul , I figured that’s what happened, but your right in that the time the video was up and Btw there were several other video’s of people getting ripped off with these bogus cigars. Now people are very aware of what CI has tried to do. I know i will check out OTHER cigar retailers now .

  • Paul

When I saw the post on IG I was hoping you’d review this 🙂

Polo shirt, tiki torches, outside at 8 pm. That’s it, I packed my bag, mini cooler with beads, jumping in my truck and heading for Ft. Pierce Fla. Hope there’s a nice B & M close by. I’ll come back to Pa. when someone calls me and tells me the 20 inches of snow is gone. That was a nice shove you gave me Brian.lol I’ve been thinking about it all winter.

  • JOSEPH BATH

I JUST TODAY RETURNED SOME REALLY BAD CIGARS TO CIGAR.COM THAT WERE OF THIS POOR QUALITY. HOPE I CAN AT LEAST GET SOME CREDIT TO MY M/C ACCT
