Arturo Fuente Hemingway Masterpiece Cigar Review

My mic connection wiggled loose 1/3 of the way in to the vid – so it’s one of the rare written only tonight! This 9×52 perfecto stick features a dark brown, smooth and oily softly packed wrapper with minimal veins, tight seams, large triple cap and potent sweet cedar aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with plentiful but thin mild-medium bodied smoke showing very smooth, oily flavors of a sweet cedar on both the draw and finish. The first third burns very well but fast with a razor sharp burn and flavors much like the first light, up to a medium body. Hitting the 1/2 way point at 45 minutes, performance and construction is flawless while the blend remains unchanged. Ending at 1:20 the last third finally woke up a bit, moving to thicker smoke and adding a sweet cream to the draw mix.

Bummer about the mic. Thanks, Bryan!

Not a problem. A lot of times I only read your reviews. I really like the short 1 paragraph review. I also wish you scored the cigars. I’m a simple man and I like numbers and I’d be really intrigued by the scoring criteria you’d come up with … Hey! You should do it! Come up with a uniquely CO cigar scoring method. Something creative and yet easy for you to apply

    • Scores are purely subjective, and that’s the opposite of what my site and reviews are about. They are only useful for marketing.

I agree that a purely numerical rating of the cigar could impact the marketability of the cigar, but that’s not what I was hoping for. I was hoping you’d do something like a body-strength scale and/or a scale for how loose/tight the draw is … just a neat way of summarizing the things you talk about in the review

        • I already say and type all that…it’s right there…no need to repeat it in another format. My written reviews are already so concise it takes a mere 60 seconds to read. Not sure why anyone needs it more summarized…

it would make it easier to search reviews, e.g, right now it’s not easy to search cigars that have more body than flavor on CO (or anywhere else). In any case, it was just an idea; as I mentioned above, I do appreciate the concise write-up

i like the Hemingways quite a bit

I live in Canada, so I can buy lots of Cubans, but oddly enough Arturo Fuente are hard to come by where I live. So, I picked up a few of these Hemingways when I was in Houston and must say they are a favorite that are a nice change from many Cubans.

    Great review! Keep it up!
