JM’s Dominican Connecticut Belicoso Cigar Review

This 6×52 stick features a dark tan thin wrapper with a very soft squishy bumpy pack, medium veins stretch marks and a pungent damp wood aroma. First light reveals a great draw with good medium bodied smoke output showing a soft tobacco flavor with a bitter pepper through the short finish. The first third luckily drops the bitterness, settling to a plan tobacco core and slight pepper finish. More of the same all the way through the 1/2 way point, with great construction, perfect burn and a solid ash drop. Ending at 45 minutes the whole cigar proved to be very consistent in blend and performance. Thank you to JM Tobacco for providing this sample for review!

I kind of like the series idea, but I also like being surprised with the random reviews, maybe you can do more series but break it up every once in a while with a random cigar that you don’t have a series to go with it. Thank Bryan

Love this new “series” format. So many cigar manufacturers that if I’m not on top of things, it gets confusing. It’s easier for me to have a general gauge/picture of how a manufacturer performs when their products are reviewed in groupings.
For instance, there’s a well-known blender who is all the rage with my friends. Hearing his name enough times, I assumed everything he touches turns to gold. But when I grouped and went through all your reviews of this specific producer in one sitting, I came away with an overall impression that just a few of his lines were worth the astronomical price point.

It seems like it may take quite a bit of effort and planning to group the cigars or have to wait to form a group for a series. Either way is fine with me but your already putting in so much work as it is.

    • No effort at all. Most companies send a big sample pack with a lot of lines, I have just split them up randomly.

Great idea to review all the blends from one line in a series!! Wonder if you might ever get back to the Room 101 stuff? Those Tee shirts are super cool Btw hope to score one. It’s starting to warm up in the northern part of the US just an FYI so keep the reviews coming, time for us guys to get outside and try these sticks that you have been reviewing. It’s been a loooong winter 🙁 Hope your Easter and the rest of the CO viewers Easter was good also.

I really enjoy the grouping! Gives you a better idea of what the company is going for and what would suet my pallet best in they’re lines. Hope to see more groupings in the future.

I like the series, and in addition to the various blends from one company, it would be great to see an occasional grouping of different vitola within the same blend (Like what you did with the Joya de Nicaragua a month or so ago).

    Group! Group! Group!

I believe that’s the first time I’ve heard “foot smell” in your reviews. As for the “series”, I think it works well as long as the sample is small (<5 cigars). Otherwise, I like variety.

I think doing a bunch of series is a great idea. Also, have you tried putting your cigar reviews in playlists on your YouTube channel? You could put them together based on brand name…

I like the groupings but I would want a random one thrown in there. I like variety. A previous comment said they would like to see some stuff reviewed in different sizes. I agree with that for sure.

  • Dude Here

I like the series idea so long as it isn’t a super long series on the same brand. 10 sticks in a row from the same manufacturer would get a little dull. Also like how you did some cheaper sticks with this series.
