Part 5! This time we go more in depth to the heart of the Drew Estate facilities. Some things are still secret, but I snuck in anyway…just kidding JD 😉 or am I…
They don’t sell those human draw tested cigars do they? Do the testers get to keep them?
LOL! That’s what I was wondering as well. What we’re seeing here is similar to the fact that sometimes, you are better off not seeing the kitchen or what happens in the kitchen of your favorite restaurant:)
Yeah, maybe you just don’t want to know! How many hands have already been all over every cigar you smoke, before your own? Plus, he pulled the cap to do that mouth draw test, so to put it in a bundle, it would have to be rewrapped, or recapped.
Well at least they didn’t show the part where they wipe down toilet seats with the wrapper leaf
Bryan, very informative series. Good work.
I noticed something in part five that somewhat startled me. Around the 1:20 mark of the video, what’s with the guy spitting on the floor? I also have to echo AngSolo’s comments on human draw testing. Those cigars aren’t sold to the public are they?
LOL Why are you guys asking me like I’m the guy’s shop foreman, I’m just taking a video, dude. I don’t believe they sell the spot checks but if they said where they go I didn’t hear.
This is some of the best quality video of a cigar factory tour that I have seen on the internet. It is almost as good as being there – almost. 🙂
I appreciate Jonathan Drew’s candor when he talks about the dip in his cigar’s quality and what he is doing to improve it. It makes me respect the company and the brand even more. Thank you and keep it up, Bryan.
ON THE SPITTING / HUMAN DRAW TESTING CONCERNS:
Guys, I reached out to JD and brought this up and here’s what he had to say:
“Thank you for your email. I am a bit embarrassed by the spitting on the floor. While it doesn’t have any health issues, it’s not nice. It won’t be happening again, I assure you.
In regard to QC, sampling like that is random and never gets passed along to become a finished product.
Good, fair questions. Again, thank you for the heads up on the spitting guy. I will kindly have admin make it clear to the employees that we prefer they spit in the bathroom if they need to.
Figured I would share this with you guys, as my concerns have been put to rest. Hope this helps.
