Esteban Carreras Chupa Cabra Gorditos Cigar Review

This 5 1/8×56 stick features a perfecto shape , minimal veins, tight firm pack, dry dusty slightly toothy feel and a potent sweet floral aroma. First light reveals a good draw with decent light smoke output showing a sweetness, bit of pepper though the finish and oil on the lips. The first third quickly goes very mild with just a plain sweet tobacco and very short clean finish. Draw is good but smoke output is minimal. By the start of the 2nd third flavors change to a subtle carmel, tobacco core and pepper through the finish. Body is up to mild-medium with a snug draw and very little smoke. 45 minutes in at the 1/2 way point nothing has changed. Ending at 1:15 the last third finally started putting out normal smoke, moving the body up to a medium and bringing the sweet tobacco up another notch, lasting through the now long finish.

EDIT: Thank you to YouTube user Misterbg100 for finding the only source on the internet at SeriousCigars with info on these and the correct name!

I have the same issue with the BM stores around me. One has a nice lounge but only sell the same old stock as everyone else. DREW, ASHTON,PADRON, ROMEO Y, YATA YATA. I Have asked if they could carry anything else and it is a franchise and they have to get with the franchise and check and see if they can get it. Because they order all there cigars through there franchise. CRAP.. But it is what it is. We do not have them on every corner like you do in Florida. So I do a lot of online shopping.

Great rants, Bryan! Totally agree on all points.
Where I am, I have 2 cigar stores/lounges in about a 45 minute area. One, sadly the closest one, is run by a guy who openly states he doesn’t like running a cigar shop, so selection is poor at best. The other, thankfully, is run by true cigar enthusiasts who also happen to partner with Drew Estate for some exclusives. It sure is nice to drive over and know I will find my fill of #9, T52, KFC, as well as a vast assortment of quality cigars I have never heard of from various brands. They also have a Gurkha exclusive, but at almost $40 a pop I might never try that one.

    Bryan,
Do not think you ranted one bit! Everything you talked about is something that most people feel and just don’t say. I really wish you would talk more frankly like this in a kinda side video outside of the reviews, nice to see you voice your opinions and views about some general day to day interactions. BTW when I was in Venice visited a local shop what a dump! All the sticks were just out on shelves, no humidor! Asked the guy why that was he said its Florida it’s humid all the time LOL! Great review, BTW did you smoke athe new D.E. Nirvana Cameroon???

    Dear Bryan,
THAT, Is one heck of a rant .LOL LOL.
But, all kidding aside, I understand you and
It’s no use having so many shops , If It Is
still a pain in the neck to get a decent cigar.I can’t say that I have THAT problem ,
since I live In France but I do feel your pain.May-be what thry need Is some newer stuf. Like some ,”Boutique” blends.
    Guy ,
    In France.

Guy, I had a great time visiting Paris last year, and the cigar shopping was great! Even the pharmacies had walk-in humidors, and the cigars (Cubans and otherwise) are very reasonably and consistently priced everywhere due to your governmental price controls. I can’t wait to go back!

Enjoying the review from a rain soaked cold day in Pa.
I’m used to getting hi-jacked by Thompsons every time I go to Cigar Obsession, but today I got a survey asking where I’m watching from and so forth. Was it real?

    • You should have said something a lot sooner. Your computer is infected, you need to do a FULL scan and clean or contact someone that can do it for you. There will NEVER be any such thing on any of my sites.

Thanks for the reply from sunny Florida.
The I.M. tech at work will do it in the morning.

I checked out the web site. They have comments on the front page. The actual comment text appears to be in dark gray (as best as I can tell) against a dark brown background. If you highlight it with your mouse, you can actually read it!

A new place opened up recently near me. They have the standards but are consciously stocking boutique cigars as well to keep things fresh. After one of your recent spotlights, I have to head over there to try out an Ezra Zion or two.

At least you guys can walk into a B&M! I live in NYC where there’s a 75% tobacco tax, so I have to order everything online.
