We have the winner for the 15th CO Lottery!

If you are new, watch the video to see what you could win, and keep reading to see the rules and tips!

HOW TO ENTER

This is going to be completely user driven kind of like the Lotto. However it doesn’t involve money or purchasing tickets with money, instead you are donating to the collective prize pool to enter!

Each time I will accept incoming packages with your cigars to add to the pool, and will update you with videos as entries come in. To add your entry you need to send in 2 or 4 cigars, for one or two entries per person/mailing address. Yes you can put all 4 cigars in one package. Damaged sticks will not be entered.

SHIPPING TIPS

When shipping cigars, it’s ok to use baggies as long as they are packed tight enough so they don’t roll around enough to be damaged. If however you have had any stored too dry, do not include any humidification, just ship them as-is. Use a small box. If you already have a box you can ship them 1st class for under $3 just about anywhere. I also like the flat rate priority mail boxes, they are about $5 good to go. Stuff the box enough so nothing moves around and has some cushion if need be. Protect the cigars from moving around in short. Use delivery confirmation, I am not responsible for lost shipments, do not ask me about them. All entries will be shown in update videos.

RULES

NO CUBANS! I’m semi-ok with reviewing them on rare occasion but I will not be involved in any way distributing them.
All participants must be 18+ years of age and reside in the US.
At the end of each lottery I will produce a video showing the random winner being drawn using random.org and the winner will receive the whole prize shipment from me!
Full-sized Cigars, ONLY, no cigarillos.
Name brand, banded cigars only – no no-name, off-brand store bundle-only or house blends.
No intentional crap cigars like Ron Mexico or other similar ultra cheap POS smokes. Use common sense, if it’s not a major brand, don’t send it.

        Eric,

Can you send BG a picture of your trophy humidor for him to post so we can be green with envy?

        MDS

  • MongoJay

    Congratulations Eric!

Hey Bryan, Love these lotteries. They are a great idea! Just a suggestion: Maybe assign the numbers to the entry form before filming and put it in the upper right hand corner. That way you don’t have to reveal disqualifications. You can just flip through to the correct number. Saw you pause like “Oh crap, I just said I wouldn’t reveal the name.”

    • http://www.cigarobsession.com Bryan Glynn

Nah, no need. While I didn’t intend on revealing a name (what was shown wasn’t the one disqualified in this round anyway) it doesn’t matter if I do.

  • mghwah

    Congrats to you brother! Enjoy.

    hi bryan,
your lottery, your rules; but i’d like to mention i actually like the rigeletto black magic. yup, its a cheapo but infinately better than thompson house blends and around the same price point as indian tabac, for instance (another cheapo that i enjoy). not a criticism, just saying. love your site. thanks for doing what you do.

    • http://www.cigarobsession.com Bryan Glynn

It’s not about if someone likes it its about keeping a level playing ground.

      • damoonz63

and i understand that. i guess i’d have to expand my point to clarify myself. let me ask you this, what do pioneer valley, devils weed, bahia trinidad, and tobacos baez serie sf all have in common? they have all been allowed in the lottery. what else do they have in common, they are all sold at a lower price point(toro…ish)(at CI, Cigars.com, and Bonitas)than rigolettto(at BCP)(robusto). i’m not trying to cause friction here–your lottery, your rules–just wanted to make that point. i’ll shut up now.

    Congrats to the weeeeeener!

  • bluesmanhop

I have been watching the lotteries for last couple drawings and learning all I can pertaining to cigars. I’m ready to throw my sticks in the hat, but what about PO BOXES,the form says street address.

    • http://www.cigarobsession.com Bryan Glynn

      That’s fine

  • Boucher207

BRYAN, just a quick question, lets say a viewer goes to their local B&M and find some sticks for $4 but are sold in places near you for less than $2, how would your viewers know these wont make it into your lottery without knowing they are a cheapo sticks and shouldnt send them? I know you say you dont want to put a price on cigars for the lottery but im just thinking about some of your more novice viewers who might not know cigars too well. Would you suggest before sending in a cigar to check out some cigar sites to see if the cigars are decent or not?

    • http://www.cigarobsession.com Bryan Glynn

Dude this is such a non issue. 99.9% of people are doing it just fine, people that are sending in these cheapies know exactly what they are doing. I don’t need to make it any more complicated than it needs to be.

      • Boucher207

Yea I hear ya. I know you dont receive too many of those entries anyway, but I was just curious how you’d answer that. Thanks man! Keep up the great work!

    Bryan,

I am very new to smoking and have found MOST everyone helps out when they can. It is like a brotherhood if you will. So I am looking for a bit more help. With all the conversation about cigar types not being allowed or being allowed I have a quick question. The cigars I have been smoking are 5 Vegas Gold Maduro or a Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend or RP Connecticut, A Fuente Gran Reserve , My Father Flor de Las Antillas my fav so far is the Ashton Heritage. But a bit pricey for me right now. Even with some of these smokes being $$$ more than others I can tell you that one of the pricier sticks I have had was a crap smoke for my taste. So my question is??? Are all of these fine for the lottery?? I looked and did not see a true list. Remember
I am very new to this and I am asking for help. Thanks Larry

    • http://www.cigarobsession.com Bryan Glynn

There’s no list and people are making this a big deal when it’s NOT. Follow the simple rules. Yes all those are normal major brands and are just fine. It’s not about the price. If it’s a brand found at a variety of places, it’s fine. The things people are having problems with are exceptions, not anything that has to be made a big deal.

      • LV2HNT

Thanks for the help… I really enjoy your reviews. They help point me in the right direction of different smokes. I found that if there is too much info on any subject it can get out of hand. You keep your reviews quick and easy to understand.
Thanks again for the great work.

  • jstndowers

Hey Brian, are entrants allowed to send in more than one of the same cigar? Thanks in advance!
