Drew Estate Java Mint Robusto Cigar Review

This 5.5×50 stick features a box pressed dark chocolate mottled wrapper with a glove soft oily texture, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, double cap and a potent mint chocolate chip ice cream aroma. First light reveals a great draw with plentiful medium bodied smoke. Flavor is 100% sugar though, as the sweetened tip completely takes over and obliterates any smoke flavor. The first third has a slightly snug draw but puts off a great amount of mild-medium smoke, quickly dropping the over the top sugar effect. Flavors are a super slick oily smooth mint and mocha, combining a sweet soft milk chocolate with a creamy coffee. Flavors are brief, with the finish mellowing quickly. The 1/2 way point comes in at 30 minutes keeping the exact same flavor profile with excellent construction, dropping body to a mild. Ending at 55 minutes with a hot squishy inch remaining, flavors shifted to just a deep earth and slight mint, still mild. Thank you very much to Drew Estate for sending this in!

Well Bryan , I wonder if you would pay almost$200 for a box of these? The going price on the 2 Major internet Cigar retailers is about $177 before shipping and handling charges. I personally don’t think i would and especially after this review a definite No. I think i will stay with the Isla Del Sol which sells for about 1/4 the price and you gave that cigar about the same review as this maybe even liked it a little better.

    • Are you serious? I never would have guessed they would be more than a few bucks…

Yes My friend.. serious as a heart attack, they are one if not the priciest of all the Drew Estate line of cigars. I just went back and viewed the review you gave the Isla Del Sol i sent you awhile back and you liked that cigar better LOL.

The Java line and the Isla Del Sol in the corona are my favorite cigars to smoke. I found the Robusto sizes all performed just like this one, kind of on the snug side and the shoulders always wall off but the corona size are amazing!

A buddy got a pair of these for use to try. He originally started smoking flavored cigars and switched over to traditional ones when I gave him a few good ones. Neither of us found it very tasty or worth the big dollars.

On another note, congrats on possibly hitting 4,000,000 views today.

Been wanting to try this stick for a while now. Every drew estate I’ve ever had has been extremely squishy after the first half. This kinda puts me off of them. Especially when there not cheap at all. Still might have to grab one of these. Wonder if the squisyness is due to all that’s infused in them.

The way to get around shoulder coming off is to use a bullet cutter. Problem pretty consistent with the Java Maduro as well.
