Visol Sultan Two-Tone Flint Lighter Review

This is a beautiful, solid metal flint ignition butane natural flame lighter with a partially brushed silver aluminum exterior. It’s built with absolute solid construction, featuring a rock solid top and hinge that automatically turns on and off the flow of butane. The bottom features a fill port optionally covered by a screw cap, an adjustment screw and screw for disassembly. The ignition is a simple flint shard sparked by a large knurled wheel for your thumb. It’s kept loaded by a small spring chamber which is released to refill with flint which is also included with the unit. The size is on the small side but does give enough burn time for 3-4 long toasted cigars between refills. The only downside to the lighter is it’s need for absolutely still air, having zero wind resistance to keeping a flame. If you are a fan of metal mechanical lighters and need an indoor unit, this would be a top-notch choice for sure! Thank you very much to the folks at LightersDirect.com for sending this in for review!

do you have any trouble lighting larger ring gauge cigars because the hinge doesn’t open to a 90 degree angle or greater like your xikar?

Looks wonderful but doesn’t seem as practical as an EX series lighter. I know they’re not windproof but they can’t at least take more than a whisper before they blow out. I love natural flames but I need something with a little more fortitude.

Not worth $50 if you can’t even talk around it.

A sweet replacement for a Bic but I like the quick light from a torch.

In form and function, this seems to be inspired by the Dunhill Rollagas. I’ve got three of those in different colors/shapes/finishes and I swear by them. But they ain’t cheap…

    I am happy with butane.
Right now I have a Bugatti that is truly amazing

I too like a intricate and simple mechanical items, but this one needs some work.

  • I really like the look of this guy. That click is very distinct too. I like how slim it looks, it would fit nicely in the watch pocket of jeans. Too bad it has no tolerance for wind or a slight breeze. I was thinking about picking one of these up, but I do most of my cigar smoking outside on the balcony so it’s a no go for me.

    Thanks for the great review.

Great review, looks like a beautiful lighter. I like the sounds it makes and it’s thin profile. Unfortunately since Moved away from my lounge a year ago %100 of my smoking is out doors so this lighter wouldn’t be practical for me. Maybe they will come out with a wind resistant model.

Great looking and sounding lighter. I smoke more than 75% indoors since I’m a northern Indiana resident and it’s cold more than warm here. If I can get a better deal I’ll be buying one for sure.
