Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 50 Years Box Pressed Cigar Review

This 5×55 box pressed stick features a dark chocolate mottled wrapper with a very soft squishy pack, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, lare double cap, smooth oily sheen and feel and a rich dark cocoa aroma. First light reveals a snug draw with good medium bodied smoke output showing very silky sweet earth notes on the draw followed by an oily coffee through the somewhat short clean finish. The first third burns very well and quite slowly with good smoke output and a normal draw. Flavors are very much like the start, adding a slight chocolate and syrupy stickiness to the finish. Hitting the 1/2 way point 30 minutes in the ash falls off in a solid chunk, performance is flawless and flavors transition just slightly, dropping most of the coffee, ramping up the earthiness and adding a bit of black pepper on the back of the tongue. Ending at 55 minutes with an inch left, the last third just shifted the finish to a warm smooth chocolate. Thank you to viewer Joshua DeMont for sending this one in!

LOL, doubling up. The Henry Brothers sent one in a year ago. Still, good to see how it’s done in the meantime, and still a favotite of mine.

    • Fixing title…

      • JJO

Ah, your header is misleading. This is the 5×55 box-pressed, not the robusto – two different things. I guess I didn’t pay as much attention to the description in the video as I should have.

        • No, good eye…I see what I did now and confused myself. I’m getting frazzled..all is well. Thanks!

          • JJO

            Edit: All is well, lol.

          • JJO

BTW, I’m always impressed by how quick you are to respond to issues like this. Thanks!

And may I add, nice review, lol.

      • JJO

I think you confused the both of us, lol. Your previous review was of the 5×50 robusto and this one is the 5×55 box-pressed. Let’s blame Torano for making the vitols too close to each other, haha. Oh, I didn’t see the prior one in the list at first because it was listed as “Torano” rather than “Carlos Torano”, but I knew I’d seen it before.

I have backed off from trying Torano cigars after reading some unbecoming reviews, however this seems to be right up my alley.. Hope to give one a shot in the near future. I will report back!
    Thanks again Bryan

Also give the Vault A-008 a shot. One of my recent favorites in the corona gorda size.

  • rgmenke

One of my favorites. The first one I smoked was my favorite and it was Bryan size (6×60)

  • Jared

Exodus Silver is one of my favorites, and definitely looking forward to trying this when I get the chance.
