La Palina Maduro 50 Cigar Review

La Palina Maduro 50 Cigar Review

This 6×50 stick features a very dark almost black wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, an even firm pack, slightly toothy satin feel, triple cap and very strong deep hay and barn aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with rich plentiful medium-full bodied smoke showing a body of a slick, creamy leather and smooth deep earth through the long full finish. The first third brings much the same performance holding the big body and smooth flavors all the way though with perfect construction. A little pepper joins at the tail end of the finish. 40 minutes in the ash drops at the 1/2 way point, and the leather has tapered off just leaving a creamy smooth earth all the way draw to draw. The last third brings a dark coffee flavor to the draw and a warm nuttiness to the finish, which progressed to a deeper earth and dropped the pepper, ending at 1:25. Thank you very much to La Palina Cigars for sending this sample in!

nice review! nice polo, have seen these around, theyre kinda pricey right?

    • HerbalJedi

Not expensive at all its all about perspective. Anybody can grab a $40 polo from J.Crew or Banana Rep. but, a limited number of people will ever have one of these polos. Bada bing get yours today lol

I gotta tell you Brian the music in you videos, while not my taste (I’m a heavy metal guy), I really enjoy it. Especially this one, where or what do you get it from?

    • Tommz81

      He makes his own.

  • Emtfire62

Sounds great.. Thanks for the reviews

  • rockjock

I like a good leather taste in a cigar once in a while.

  • eric.hanson

I’ve had good luck with the La Palina brand, sounds like this one might be worth try too. Thanks for the review Bryan.

  • derek_straus

I have not tried a La Palina, but the sound of this one makes me want to see if I cannot find one!

  • garlar10

These look great. I have had a few of the kill bills, although a little out of my price range.

    • Fabbio

wanted to but yeah price wise couldn’t do it

  • rgorman

I want to try this one as leather is one of my favorite flavors!

  • Jason Isbaner

Interesting flavors, might have to try!

  • lazyboy

Never had anything from this particular brand. Not that I can remember anyways. Maybe something I will try here shortly. Quick question. I store all my sticks without the plastic on them. Take it off right as I put em in the humidor. For the lottery, do You prefer I leave it on for the shipping or no worries?

    • MaxDuo

I think he probably doesn’t care… in the videos I’m pretty sure they have been there both ways?

  • Gigalo de Vitolas

I’ve yet to try the maduro line but I enjoyed the naturals. If i can find them I’ll give this a go.

  • HerbalJedi

That seems like quite a bit of cigar left on there before its done. That a problem with construction or something? Other than that sounded pretty decent.

  • geekfish

I’m a leather fan. Will have to try one at the local b&m. A lot left at the end.

I’m not a huge leather guy. It has to be well balanced.

Question for all…. Do any of you go through periods where you lose the taste for cigars? I have gone through about a week long period every six months or so where everything just tastes bad…even my favs. This happens year after year. Am I alone or is normal for you also?

    • Texvet

I have times where cigars taste odd. Sometimes bitter, other times very little taste at all.

      • Fabbio

does it coincide with something eaten or drank prior or during maybe?

    • Craig

I’ve had this happen a few times. But its nothing regular. I guess I’ve been smoking cigars for about 6 or 7 years now and its only happened about 4 or 5 times to me.

    • smokethis

When my allergies act up all cigars taste the same, a few days off and some allergy meds really help me.

  • jpculp57

La Palina has really come back with some excellent cigars. They are extremely good and I recommend that if you see any of their lines you grab some. You’ll not be disappointed.

  • gtclark

Sounds fantastic – great burn time, too.

  • weimerad

Sounds great I still haven’t tried any LaPalina blends yet

  • mghwah

More of a medium guy but this one looks like I may give it a go.

  • MaxDuo

Earth and leather are ok, not my favorite… but the coffee finish has my interest. That, and the lack of strength. Will keep it in mind to try out if I run across it some day.

  • Dirk

I have been seeing these sticks and was waiting for a good review.. I think I may be giving this one a try.. typically not a maduro kind of guy..

  • dbfr181

    Looks like a solid stick.

  • smokethis

    Great review thanks
