This is like a super amped up crock pot meal! You get the delicious browning for more flavors and it’s still super easy to make! There is quite a bit of prep time but obviously it scales well to feed a huge group or just a meal for four. It uses cheap beef that is cooked slow for maximum value, and proves to be a hearty chunky manly meal!

To make this you’ll need:
Fine sea salt
Black pepper
Lean Stew Meat
Mushrooms
Carrots
Thyme
Russet Potatoes
Fat-free/low sodium beef broth
Optional dry red wine

    • Ok THAT one was not my goof…stupid youtube. Flipped it a couple times, plays now.

Can’t wait to try this one! The wife and my personal favorite so far has been the Fajita’s !!! We took it one step further and used Romaine lettuce instead of tortilla’s for the wraps. Very good !!!

Great recipe! I have tried something similar but without the broth. I will have to try this with the beef stock and red wine. This looks like a winner. Too bad I didn’t know about this during the cold winter months lol.

  • mfsaur

    that looks epic

  • fiatster

Very nice Bryan. I did a similar one all on the Weber in my #14 black iron dutch oven last week. That’s what’s nice about stew, it tastes great cooked indoors or over the coals. Nothing beats a great beef stew. Thanks for the posting.

  • Agreed Fiatster, nothing beats a great beef stew and this one looks killer! I wonder how it would be with half russets and half sweet potatoes, only one way to find out!

  • Pokesfan

This dish looks tasty. I love beef stew and this one makes my mouth water. Can’t wait to try it! Thanks again Bryan!

I never had luck with buying “stew meat”… never comes out tender for me. If you buy “Chuck” meat specifically, you know what you should be buying and usually ends up with better results for me

  • weimerad

That will put some hair on your chest. Good stuff

  • Dirk

Damn you Bryan.. this makes me want to start eating red meat again!

  • wcfennell

wow you truly are a renaissance man, cigar aficionado, highly skilled photographer, and master chef! How long will that whole pot last you?

    • MaxDuo

Sounds like someone may not have watched the video 😛

  • bmac7754

looks good Bryan, going to give that a try, of course maybe only half of that

  • MaxDuo

Going to be making a batch of that tonight/tomorrow to last me all week at work, should be great 🙂
