La Aurora 1495 Series Corona Cigar Review

This 5.2×43 stick features a slightly red dark brown wrapper with a firm pack, dry slight tooth, minimal veins, bit ragged seams, double cap and rich musty wood aroma. First light reveals a great draw with medium-full bodied flavors of a zingy spicy pepper over an earthy tobacco core with a long finish. The first third burns very quickly but well, dropping the first inch of ash in just 15 minutes. Flavors are largely unchanged, just adding a touch of sweetness on the draw. Performance is excellent, so it looks like it’ll be a great shorter smoke option. Ending quickly at 40 minutes, the remainder was very consistent with excellent performance all the way to the nub, getting hot at the last inch. Thank you very much to viewer Simon for providing me this for review!

Looks like a good stick. I have been looking for a good short smoke. I will have to pick some of these up. Thanks for the review!

  • TimB

Another quick morning cigar with no strength sounds like.

  • LunchBox87km

Sounds perfect for a quick one hour break

  • Daniel.A

had this one before in robusto size. it was decent. no complaints about it.

  • Romel

I agree with jason, cheap stick and not to bad. Sounds like a good buy. if you don’t want to spend a lot on a hour stick. Great review Bryan.

    • smokethis

Yes good value stick. not bad. Ty for review B!

  • dgrambo

For the price you get a real quality blend of good tobacco. I was hoping for some transitions but there zero with this stick, at least in this size. Im half way through a box and they are rock solid consistent. Very well constructed too. I didnt find them that earthy, cedar wood and spice with a tobacco core, for me. Ill have to pay attention and see if I can detect some earthiness. Thanks Brian.

I do like that it is cheap, as that usually makes me also feel better about shorter cigars. Plus it seems like a very nice mix if flavors, so that is great.

Miss the usual close up at the beginning of the video.

  • seanking4

Sounds like a nice quick stick. A little too quick for me but, still it sounds pretty good.

  • mufdvr6976

nice review bryan, a solid smoke with a few transitions, cheap sounds good for me!

  • wcfennell

great review, I like that you review both expensive and cheap sticks!

This sounds like a cigar I need to try. I am always looking for a bargain cigar that is not a dog rocket.

  • Texvet

I am sawing through a box of these corona’s. They are well constructed and consistent.

  • phillyb

    Sounds basic but tasty!

  • rgmenke

Great timing, I just got a five pack and have been waiting to try one.

  • vscarpine

    Sounds like a good one

  • ctigers15

Nice review, I’ve never had a La Aurora, but they look good, I might pick one up soon.

  • I’m not a huge corona man myself. the beer or the stick lol

  • weimerad

Wasn’t a big fan when I smoked it

  • dbfr181

Sweet review I’ve been wondering about this cigar looks good!

  • JJO

The 1495 is a solid, no frills stick. I find it to be very satisfying, even if it’s not particularly complex. And really only “cheap” at a couple of online giants; at other places it’s closer to mid-priced.

I was given two of these by a guy at a golf course. I took them home and let them sit for a couple weeks and had one with a friend. I have a rule that if I give a cigar to someone, they must give me a review.. It is uncanny. His review was very similar to Bryan’s.. I thought they were a great cheap stick.. one perfect for he golf course.

    Thank you again Bryan

I got one of these in the CRA sampler (good sampler btw) a few months ago but it’s just been sitting in the humidor, this review makes me want to pull it out and smoke it.

  • rockjock

Sounds like a pretty good one.

  • USA2ndAmendment

Sounds like a good overall cheap stick for a day to day smoke. But I only smoke cigars once a week or less, so I like to smoke a nice premium cigar.

  • Dale

I have several of these sitting in my humidor. I had one about two weeks after getting them and thought is was OK, not bad just kinda plain. Now that they have been sitting for a while I will have to try another and see if I notice a difference.

  • MorganGeo

I’ve been looking for some quicker smokes to try when time is an issue.

  • Chaz

Used to smoke these a lot a few years ago- maybe worth revisiting… there seems to be a lot of really good deals on them out there.

  • Tommz81

Never really liked these la auroras

  • Craig

An inexpensive cigar (just can’t bring myself to say cheap cigar), that is a quick smoke and has some merit sounds good to me! Thanks Bryan.

  • mikemagri

very good inexpensive cigar. had several of these and would buy again.

  • LordCybor

I will pick some of these up soon. I love both the size and flavor profile. Thanx for reviewing it!
