CO Cigar Lottery 10 Update 2

Cigar Obsession Lottery #10, Update 1!

SmokeInn has very generously decided to be the sponsor for at least this 10th CO Cigar Lottery! In addition to the 150 cigars the winner this month shall receive this beauty, a 100+ count unit from SmokeInn – help me support them, they support you!

This is the second update for lottery #10! The lottery is rolling at a 150 cigar stop, so whenever the stash hits 150 I will draw a winner and the next round starts! As always I’ll have regular updates as things come in so you can drool over the growing prize pool :)

If you are new, watch the video to see what you could win, and keep reading to see the rules and tips!

HOW TO ENTER

This is going to be completely user driven kind of like the Lotto. However it doesn’t involve money or purchasing tickets with money, instead you are donating to the collective prize pool to enter!

Each time I will accept incoming packages with your cigars to add to the pool, and will update you with videos as entries come in. To add your entry you need to send in a minimum of 2 cigars, and can enter a maximum of 4 cigars, for a total of two entries per person/mailing address. Yes you can put all 4 cigars in one package. Damaged sticks will not be entered.

SHIPPING TIPS

When shipping cigars, it’s ok to use baggies as long as they are packed tight enough so they don’t roll around enough to be damaged. If however you have had any stored too dry, do not include any humification, just ship them as-is. Use a small box. If you already have a box you can ship them 1st class for under $3 just about anywhere. I also like the flat rate priority mail boxes, they are about $5 good to go. Stuff the box enough so nothing moves around and has some cushion if need be. Protect the cigars from moving around in short. Use delivery confirmation, I am not responsible for lost shipments, do not ask me about them. All entries will be shown in update videos.

RULES

NO CUBANS! I’m semi-ok with reviewing them on rare occasion but I will not be involved in any way distributing them.
All participants must be 18+ years of age and reside in the US.
At the end of each lottery I will produce a video showing the random winner being drawn using random.org and the winner will receive the whole prize shipment from me!
Full-sized Cigars, ONLY, no cigarillos.
Name brand, banded cigars only – no no-name, off-brand store bundle-only or house blends.
No intentional crap cigars like Ron Mexico or other similar ultra cheap POS smokes. Use common sense, if it’s not a major brand, don’t send it.

Include the following information in your package:

Name
email!!
Cigars you are entering
Full return address for prize delivery

Send entries and info here:
Bryan Glynn
5318 Bob White Dr.
Holiday, FL 34690

Good luck and SPREAD THE WORD! The more people are in it the bigger the prize!! Click the buttons below here and tell everyone, get them to enter! The bigger the pool the cooler extra stuff I can get you like the free humidors as well!

That Cohiba with gold on the band is the Cohiba Puro Dominicana. I have one in my humi its a great cigar.

  2. kb9311 says:

I will be joining this contest for the first time here soon! this is such an exciting contest with the updates and the possibilty (for me anyway) of not having to buy any cigars for at least 9-10 months! Keep sending in the good stuff fellas!

  3. MR_EXPRESS says:

    A Mark Twain. Lel.

  4. gumby_130 says:

Great sticks – the Mark Twain and acids.

  5. Chris Tivnan says:

Seeing your cigar in the video is like watching a child grow up. And you know it made it to Bryan’s house safely lol.

  6. Griff says:

I believe the Arganese cigars should be included in the crap sticks along with the Mark Twain. They are between $25 and $30 for a bundle of 20 on CI.

    • Bryan Glynn says:

It’s not just about price – lots of cigars can be had one sale and through deals really cheap. Mark Twain is not a Brand name cigar. But like I said it technically fit the rules – which have been updated going forward. I just hate that I have to keep making rules in the first place, but people just like finding ways through the cracks to do the absolute minimum required instead of just abiding by the spirit of something and keeping it simple and fun.

      • AngSolo says:

I agree its not about price. A Diesel Unholy Cocktail is $3.33 when you buy a box but I think its one of the best cigars out there and everyone should try one. Not sure about the Mark Twains though….

    • phaedron says:

Hey, I like those Arganese Chairmans (Chairmen?)! Anytime you can find a well-constructed, flavorful smoke at a great price, sign me up. Now, I confess I was bummed when Bryan did that one Arganese review where he was getting dye on his fingers… but I’ve never had one of those Maduro Toros. But I’ve smoked a dozen of these figurados over the past few years and never had any issues like that. Give ‘em a try!

      • JJO says:

You’re right about the Arganese Chairman. Those were a higher end line, but they are no longer being made, as far as I know. The other ones, though, are a much cheaper bundled stick, and even though I like them as an inexpensive morning stick/yard gar – hell, I was the one who sent Bryan that stick you referred to – and although I never had a staining problem, I really wouldn’t send them in as an entry.

        • chief791 says:

I won lottery #9. I am smoking an Aeganese Maduro Chairman that i won in that lottery. Not bad at all. I was surprised because i wasn’t expecting much and wanted to try it because i have never smoked the brand before. I don’t know about any other Argonese sticks but the Maduro Chairman is one i would smoke again.

    • cigarhobby85 says:

I was waiting to hear what Bryan was going to say about the Mark Twain when I saw it on the table.

  7. derek_straus says:

I think I am going to have to raid the piggy bank to get some money to ship my entry in! I got some good ones that I am thinking of sending in!

  8. Walshy says:

People do that on purpose. Maybe to try and beat the system or just draw attention to themselves. I’ve entered the contest before and I made sure to send in cigars that I LIKE to smoke. Not sticks that are at the bottom of my humidor that I wouldn’t even give to my worst enemy. Bryan doesn’t have to run this lottery. He is doing it for us. Abide by the rules people and the contest will get even better. It’s an awesome deal. Imagine 150 GOOD cigars showing up at your door. Open the box and WOW!! Then you throw the Mark Twain out.

    • JJO says:

Exactly. The rule of thumb is to send in something of a quality that you would like to receive yourself. It’s not a dumping ground for unwanted cheapies. Maybe there’s a learning curve here, and some people new to cigars need to realize that what they are sending is not really acceptable for this lottery. If we all play fair, we all win, at least from an ethical standpoint, and we get to know that whoever wins will actually enjoy what we sent in. Fortunately, from what I’ve seen, most of the winners so far have been people who have sent in very nice smokes. Karma, maybe?

  9. MorganGeo says:

Lots of good cigars in that batch I’ve been wanting to try. Keeping fingers crossed! :)

  10. MaxDuo says:

Blah, I see this and wish more than ever that I could enter.

Yet I went from blah contracted job and paying off a ton of school debt to unemployed and still in debt. 148 free cigars would be fantastic! :)

Good luck to the entrants, and congrats to whoever wins. Such an awesome contest of Bryan to keep organizing. And props to Smoke Inn for the sponsorship!

    • MorganGeo says:

I tell u what, in my next entry ill send in an extra 2 for an entry in your name. (If its ok) Keep your spirits up buddy. something shall come around.

      • MaxDuo says:

No no, thanks, that’s awesome but no need :) I’ve plenty of cash to go off of for a while, I just am very strict on myself for how I spend money.

And that’s when I have a job. Now that I don’t I’m in a huge no spend mode, but I’ve still got several cigars and have allowed myself a small go out with friends fund :) I’m in no danger, just very grumbly because I won’t let myself do almost anything fun til I get a new job.

Thanks, again, for the offer though. :)

      • Walshy says:

I was gonna say the same thing. I dont see an issue with it. I guess you’ll have 2 entries next time. I hope your luck changes brother. I know what you are going through. Went through a similar thing a year ago.

  11. jomo says:

I forgot all about it. Ive been meaning to get something packed up. Mine will be in the mail tomorrow.

  12. SsgtJerikUSMC says:

I love this lottery. Even if I don’t win, watching the updates I feel like a kid in a candy store.

  13. JJO says:

By the way, that Cuban Parejo is made by Perdomo. Famous exclusive, I believe.

  14. vscarpine says:

I love the updates to see what cigars I can win!! Like xmas morning

  15. USA2ndAmendment says:

Wow, what a great bunch of cigars. 150 cigars would probably last me about 2yrs or more, but I have a nice big humidor for them to stay cozy in until I smoke them :)

  16. garlar10 says:

Somebody is going to be really lucky. I just had a CAO Brazilia today. One of my favorites.

  17. smokethis says:

Free cigars are a good thing. The lottery looks like fun.

    • Sugarmaker67 says:

Technically it’s not free. It costs you 2-4 QUALITY sticks (10-25$) and it should because if I win i don’t want to be smoking a crap stick just as i would hope all the other entries feel the same.

  18. lostonmonday says:

Would anyone have any qualms with a Garo Double Habano Toro? It’s an inexpensive cigar, but I love em’ (and would love to get one in the lotto). I’d pair it with something nice too like a Gurkha Beast, etc? I just don’t want to make someone feel like they’ve been cheated by a cheap cigar, or get meh knuts busted like the guy who sent in the Mark Twain. So what say you?

    • Bryan Glynn says:

      That’s fine, that’s a normal brand.

    • lostonmonday says:

After mulling this over, I figured out why it didn’t seem right sending in a Garo 2x Habano. Cause’ it’s a $2 cigar, and everyone else is sending in $5+ cigars. I really do like the Garo, a lot, but it’s still a two buck wonder. So I’m sending one just in case Bryan has time to review it, and a few of my favorite sticks that are on par $ wise to what everyone else has entered. Good luck everybody, and I hope the winner likes what I’m entering. I know I’d love to see em’ back in the mail!

      • JJO says:

A pat on the back to you! :) Yes, a great $2 cigar is still a $2 cigar. It’s inherently unfair to those who are sending in $6-$10+ smokes, but that’s just the way it goes. We all know and accept that, but the upshot is that people will, hopefully, come to the conclusion that a fair entry makes it that much more fun for everyone, and the sender should feel better about it, too. Good luck to you!

      • lostonmonday says:

Oh, BTW I mean $5 cigars on cigarbid or cigarauctneer. So like $10+ cigars if going by msrp.

  19. dbfr181 says:

People always try to tip toe the line! Stay firm !

  20. Magicshark13 says:

I wish i could send some in but i just dont have the funds right now.

  21. chief791 says:

I don’t understand the mentality of sending in your dog rockets. What do you say to yourself. “well if i don’t win i got rid of two shitty cigars. But if i do win i will make a killing”. That is pretty petty folks. What if everyone sent in crap sticks. This lottery would suck. If you don’t smoke and enjoy them, don’t send them. Remember when Bryan calls out the winner he also reads out loud the sticks you sent in. If you send crap i hope he calls you out on it. No one is asking you to send in a Opus X, just something decent. There are great cigars you can get on cigar bid for $3-$4 a smoke.

  22. CigarButcher says:

That Mark twain made me laugh. I was wondering if people would just empty the humidors for unsmokables and without fail someone did. Just liking the stamp on my box of swisher sweets now.

  23. puffrey says:

Way to stand firm Bryan! The lottery has been going on for over a year now so if folks dont know the rules by now then thats on them!
Also like seeing the Emilio in there, kudos to who ever sent that in! (it wasnt me)

  24. JHylk717 says:

Wow these batches keep getting better and better, can’t wait to enter hopefully sometime soon!

  25. JHylk717 says:

Definitely want to try that Obsidian Perfecto, seems like something I might like from what I’ve heard, anyone try it/ know anything of it?

    • mike44njdevils says:

I usually have 5-10 of these between my locker and home humi. I like them, though my tastes have been shifting. I usually send them out in my PIF’s on the CA forums. Great stick if it draws well

  26. DrakeXD says:

Hey Bryan, when I was watching you draw the winner for the last lottery I had a thought:

Instead of writing a 1 or 2 on each piece of paper for the number of entries, perhaps you should write the numbers corresponding to their place in line. For example, the 1st person sends you 2 entries, so they get #’s 1 & 2. The 2nd person gives you 1 entry, so they get # 3. The third person has 2 entries, so #’s 4 & 5.

I think this would make it a lot easier on you when random.org spits out a number. Instead of counting through the stack, you can go straight to the winning number.

  27. gumby_130 says:

Just sent my entrie today.hope I make it in this one.

  28. david121 says:

The nerve of some people.. lol it’s a shame there are people who will send in 2 dollar sticks while other people are sending in great brands. Thats really cheap

    • neocigaro says:

Haha they want see if they can make it through with the cheapest ones they can find haha, But ya some people are sending some real good ones

      • SsgtJerikUSMC says:

You know the funny thing is that you can get great smokes for good deals these days and it won’t break your bank. I’ve seen some 5 stick packs on Cigar Monster for like $18, and they were good Cigars! I mean seriously it’s not that hard. If people spent more time and effort in actually participating the right way and making it fun rather than wasting Bryan’s time they might find the whole experience more enjoyable and save themselves some time trying to cheat the system.

  29. OBdrum81 says:

awesome box love the raffle I just entered for the first time this round!

  30. Sinsandman says:

Can’t wait to enter. I am currently in Afghanistan so I will need to get my wife to send the sticks, but I would love to get in on this.

  31. Craig says:

It just kills me what some people will try to get away with! Do anyone remember a few months ago when someone sent in a Brick House (cut way down) and called it a Brick House Nub? HA HA HA…….. come on guys!

  32. Sinsandman says:

Ok, Got a Rocky and 3 Cammy Nubs being packaged and sent :) Excited at the opportunity. To Texvet and MaxDuo. Ain’t nothing but a thang lol. I am actually charged with increasing and maintaining soldier moral…I have decided to do so through a weekly smoke social. Just trying to find sponsors. Most the companies I approached with the request have put me on some long list. But still I try….also trying to figure out this gravatar thing…I made one but can’t figure out how to get it to this page.

  33. irratebass says:

I was given a Mark Twain by a co-worker….it’s still in my humi and I really have no idea if/when I will ever smoke it, I really can’t even give it away to anyone lol. Maybe if I get a wild hair up my ass I will pretend to be from the Crap Network and smoke it, but I will have to be really drunk maybe.

Other than the last 3 it’s a good looking lottery, keep it up Bryan.

  34. curtpick says:

Sure to participate on the next one !

  35. mbuckwash says:

I will be attending Cigar Fest in two weeks and will be shipping some down to you, Bryan, for the contest. I will double check with you prior to sending them just in case. I don’t want t be that guy who ruins it for everyone simply because I am ignorant. I will do research prior to sending them, but the fact that these are new blends which haven’t hit the market yet…may throw me up.

  36. Johnnycatt says:

bryan i just mailed my cigars for the contest, i hope they get to your house safely lol their coming from wisconsin!
