H. Upmann Legacy Toro Cigar Review

This 6×52 stick features a medium brown wrapper with a dry slightly toothy feel like a paper bag, one medium vein, seams that are lifting slightly, a nice double cap, firm even pack and a slightly sweet musty aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with light medium bodied smoke output showing a slightly musty sweet earth and grassy notes with a short peppery finish. The first third burns perfectly shifting down to a mild-medium body with a creamy textured earth on the draw quickly followed by an oily spicy long finish, leaving heat on my lips too the next draw. Hitting the 1/2 way point at 40 minutes in flavors are largely unchanged with just a deep wood note joining the draw and the heat on the finish growing weaker. Finishing at 1:30 the last third moved to a smooth medium bodied nut with a long deep finish. Thank you very much to Altadis for sending this in for review!

xD nice start! my evil side really wanted that last cigar to fall apart on you. I still love all your videos but yeah..really wanted that to fall apart. I don’t think I would like this cigar. I’m not really big on the cigars with much spice in them. What kind of spice are we talking about here? like does it have a bite to it? or is it a more smooth spice?

One of my favorite cigars, my first H.upman cigar want to try more but don’t know which ones the best? Any suggestions?

I did a review on this site of the 1844 reserve, pretty good one worth checking out! Good price tag as well.

Sounds like the favors on this cigar are pretty obvious to taste which sounds good to me. I remember you mentioning in one of your videos that you used to be upsets with H Upmann. Any particulars that were your go to cigar?

The H.Upmann was where my obsession began. Its been fun but expensive. I could be wasting my cash on junk instead though. Would rather have a cigar any day.

I hate it when a cigar unravels at the cut. It ruins the entire experience whether it is great cigar or not

I just smoked one of these, but was getting a strong pencil lead taste. I don’t know if it was the wind getting ash in my mouth or if I got a bad stick.

I have another that I’ll have to give a shot later this week.

I just smoking my first one of these but in robusto and I didn’t pick up on any spice, it was just creamy all the way through. No complaints in the flavor but these wrappers really are fragile, just after I took off the band the thing exploded like someone stuck a firecracker in it. Other than that a great smoke.

CORONA size!! These are so very good in the corona size. I’ve smoked all the sizes and the corona is hands down the best. You get so many more flavors and it’s the best size anyway for wrapper:filler ratio anyway. I’ve never like the Upmans because they are so light and nearly flavorless and this one is the first that I think is quite good and has very good flavors.
