Foundry Wells Cigar Review

This 6×50 stick features a unique metal gear over the paper band, supposedly to be collected as part of a future creation from the line. The wrapper is dark tan with an oily slightly tooth firm feel, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, triple cap and mild barynyard aroma. First light reveals a great draw with plentiful rich medium-full smoke output showing flavors of an oily deep and substantial earth especially through the long finish. The first third morphs a bit bringing a slight caramel to the draw with a big woodiness, while the finish remains thick and earthy. Hitting the 1/2 way point at 35 minutes, the ash held on in inch chunks, burn was good and performance excellent. Draw flavors changed very little with the big shift being the finish shortening quite a bit. Ending at the nub 1:10 in, the last third remained consistent. Thank you to General Cigar for sending this in for review!

Bryan, I had the Talbot a few weeks ago and didnt care for it at all. Im going to grab the Wells one i get a chance and see if i get the same results. Seemed to me the bigger ring gauge had washed out flavors. Great review. Thanks

I had a Lovelace 2 weeks ago, and it was fantastic. I’m going to have to try a Wells in the near future.

    Nice review.

Here’s rumor #1 about the gear wheels:

They assemble to make a Bionic Woman…

I was lucky to win a couple of these in a previous contest on the site and I was really, really impressed with the cigar. I don’t think that I would have been on the lookout for these if not for the opportunity I had to smoke a free one…now I am!

I found the flavors in the first third to be a earthy/buttery that were super enjoyable. Really nice smoke, my only regret is I gave the other one to a buddy of mine. 🙂

    Thanks Bryan.
