5 Vegas High Primings Churchill Cigar Review

This 7×52 stick features a dark brown smooth oily wrapper with a firm pack, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, double cap and rich musty tobacco aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with plentiful rich medium-full bodied smoke output showing flavors of a slightly bitter oily creamy tobacco with a bit of pepper through the smooth finish. The first third shows rich flavors of a musty aged tobacco but on the lighter side, with a smooth, oily, creamy texture and a bit of pepper and spice through the long earthy finish. 25 minutes in the ash drops off just starting the 2nd third. Flavors take on a slightly sweet earth on the draw, continuing on through the finish which has a bit of a peppery grit in the back of my throat. Ending at 1:20 the last third shows no flavor shifts, just bringing up the strength to a medium. Thank you very much to Bob Davis for sending this in for review!

I’m very ahppy you reviewed this (and that you seemed to enjoy it). 5 Vegas is one of my daily smokes, all their blends are very good. I prefer the Classic blend, but I will look into the high primings in a bigger vitola. Thanks again Bryan.

Love all the 5 Vegas cigars i have smoked. Great sticks at a great price.

This might be a newbie question but thought I would ask, I alway thought “Medium-full” meant the strength of the cigar, but you said this is a medium to full cigar with no strength (atleast not untilt he end), does medium to full describe the strength or taste?

Body & Strength are separate. Body is how intense the flavors are, strength is how much nicotine rush.

I have smoked a few different blends of the 5 Vegas. Some I enjoyed and some I didn’t. I think a lot depends on which manufacturer is making the blends for CI. 2 of the ones so far I didn’t like tirned out to be made by AJ and 2 I did like were made by the Placencia’s. No surprise.

    Great review Bryan,
I love the 5 Vegas A in all vitolas.
I have yet to try the Miami though I hear it is great!
    Keep up the great work.

I like all the 5 vegas cigars i have smoked so far. Cask strength is my next try.

Sadly, I’ve had the nightmare stick from 5 Vegas. Where the ooze comes out halfway through the cigar. One of the worst tastes ever. Turned me off from trying another one. Sucks because they look so good

Great review. I Love 5 Vegas cigars. but never tried the High Primings. Going to definitely pick up a 5 pack of these.

Hey Bryan, I have seen these advertised, but not sure if it was just hype or not…seems like a good stick. I’ve had a number of 5 Vegas, but really like the Triple A and currently digging the Cask Strength. I am subscribed on UToob as k9rexo.

I’ve been thinking about picking one of these up for a little while now, I think your review talked me in to getting one with my next cigar.com or cigarsinternational order.

Just picked up a 10 pack of these in 6×48 from cigar.com on their daily deals for $27.50. I thought that was a great deal. Really looking forward to trying these, the 5 vegas line isn’t the greatest, but I also haven’t had a bad one yet, and considering how cheap and good they are I always keep some of the golds and Miamis in my humidor.

i wanna try this. as a matter of fact i wanna try all the 5 vegas sticks. if anybody has info on these on how it compares to the classic (one of my favorites) i would greatly appreciate it.

Enjoying this one in Churchill size on this lazy Sunday afternoon. I have good burn and the flavor is wonderful. I’m a fan of 5 Vegas. Haven’t had one that I didn’t like. In my opinion, this taste close to a regular 5 Vegas classic.

Haven’t smoked a band yet, but I’m reasonably sure it’ll happen someday.

You should put together a video of bloopers, Bryan.

  • Koach77

Love the humanness of your video. I new and have yet to smoke a band yet. Glad you have these gems archived for us newbies to view them.
