Cu-Avana Punisher Shorty Edition Cigar Review

This 4.5×60 stick features an oily, dark brown firm wrapper with minimal veins, tight seams, a satin feel and peppery tobacco aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw and plentiful smoke output after clipping it down a 2nd time, with the entire effect/flavor being heat and tingle, completely overwhelming any actual taste from the tobaccos. The finish is long and the same, making your mouth absolutely salivate constantly. It takes nearly 30 min to get 1/2 way through where the heat starts to die down enough that it lets some of the flavors come through. The draw has a medium bodied creamy smooth tobacco and leather, holding the cream through the finish, blending well with all the spice. Burn isn’t great, needing a touchup to continue. 50 minutes in at the top band point the heat is exhausted, just leaving a mild-medium tobacco, cream and slight leather with a long finish of the same. Ending 1:05 in the last bit showed no further changes. Thank you to viewer Bryan White for sending me this to review!

Thank you! More spicy cigar reviews! 😀

Do you have any recommendations for a spicy cigar that has more flavors/complexities?

      • Big spice isn’t a natural flavor. There are plenty with a little heat and zing, just search for spice – but nothing like this.

Bryan, how do you recommend storing these cigars? Should I treat it like a regular infused cigar and keep it separate from the rest of my sticks? Or is it safe to throw in my main humidor?

    • I would say it’s safe to store normally, it doesn’t give off an aroma like normal flavored sticks.

        Thanks for another good review

I understand that these ones get flavor by being marinated, I’m assuming, in cayenne pepper. But why do some tobaccos naturally taste like coffee, or leather, or earth, or nutmeg, etc? Is it because of the temperature and duration of fermentation or something like that?

I love spicy foods so this may be right up my alley. Thanks for the video!

I’ve had the regular punisher before and liked it, I got this one in a sampler pack not too long ago and can’t wait to try it. I love spicy stuff!

just smoked this after being in the humi for a while. was disappointing to say the least. the spicy tip was certainly hot and spicy, with some nice heat–while it lasted, which was only about 5 min. the rest of the experience was smoking a mild, boring, tasteless cigar. once the spice died off, i found myself wanting to just be done with it. had to end it early.
