Punch Bareknuckle Belicoso Cigar Review

This 5×50 stick features a dark brown very firm and toothy wrapper with minimal veins, tight seams, a slight oil sheen and rich musty hay aroma.  First light revealsa great draw with plenty of medium-full bodied smoke giving flavors of a sweet creamy light earth with a pepper and spice kick on the long finish. The first third burns fairly slowly, keeping the big body and smooth smoke. Flavors are light in the mouth but filling, showing a smooth light earth with a good bit of peppery wood especially through the finish. The 2nd third picks up the pace quite a bit, dropping the as 30 minutes in with no flavor transitions. Ending at 50 minutes right down to the nub, flavors still remained unchanged but held the nice blend of complexity all the way down. Thank you to CigarsInternational.com for sending this sample for review!

I smoked one of these a few months ago and loved it. It came in one of my cigar of the month shipments from CI and I’m glad it did!

Awww drat, I was hoping to send you one of these as it is one of my favorite cigars. According to the owner of my local B&M, this is a rebanded Punch Cigar made simply for CI. I don’t feel comfortable spewing which blend it is in public, but if there’s a private message function to your site, hit me up and I’ll let you in on it. Found myself nodding in agreement to virtually every comment you made.

    • Yes, it is retailed exclusively through CI. While it *might* be true it’s just a rebranded existing blend, I can assure you that a cigar store isn’t going to be privy to that information. It’s quite humorous, all the things I have heard or heard about, store owners/employees saying about the industry and products…

I will say this, the Belicoso size is exclusive to the Bareknuckle banding. Either way, I’m very happy that someone has finally reviewed this cigar. Can’t wait to get a box of these 🙂

I smoked this beauty yesterday and had pretty much the same experience as Bryan did. This was a pretty good smoke that I had been wanting to try for awhile now. I recommend it.

I’ve smoked a box of the Bareknuckle Elites (5.2 x 45) and two of the Pita (6.1 x 50). Not the best cigar on the planet, but for $2.50 a stick for the Elite and $4.00 a stick for the Pita, you’d be hard pressed to find a better cigar at the price points. Have not been disappointed with any of the ones I’ve smoked. Great construction, great burn, enjoyable flavors and body and no excessive strength.
