Ramon Bueso Genesis The Project Robusto Cigar Review

This 5×50 stick features a very dark chocolate wrapper with a dry slight tooth, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, a firm light pack, double cap and rich dark chocolate aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with with good rich smoke output showing medium-full body flavors of a deep earth and creamy leather, with a pepper and spice kick through the finish. The first third quickly develops to a super smooth and creamy chocolate with a slight earth on the draw and the same richness through the long finish which dropped the spice. Burn is razor sharp and pretty slow going just an inch in almost 20 min. The 2nd third changes just a little, bringing more of the chocolate in and adding a touch of strength, just letting me know it’s there. Ending at 1 hour in, the last third showed no further changes. Thank you very much to Cigarsinternational.com for sending this for review!

    Hello Byran,
Glad to see you review this cigar! I picked some up through CI when they first hit the market without a review to go by and from your review I know I made a great choice. These are now a new mainstay in my inventory.

Good Leaves & Long Ashes 2 You!

  • I got some of these when they first hit CI. I really enjoyed them. They are a great “morning with a cup of coffee” smoke. When I get back to work, this is going to be one of my first purchases.

This cigar is one of my favorites. I believe the torpedo to be the best for this brand (and I’ve tried all sizes). The size and shape of the torpedo seems to help bring out the best of the Genesis blend.

I also found the Torpedo to be exceptional, followed by the Robusto. One of those pleasantly good cigars to be had for very cheap. Good anytime cigar.

Gotta agree with you guys on this one, an absolutely stellar med/full bodied smoke with tons of rich flavors that can be had for a couple bucks s stick. One of my absolute favorites

I’m coming from cigar lottery update number 10, someone sent this in and you said it was good so I decided to see what it’s like! Lol it does sound nice 🙂
    Nice review!

On the fence with this one. Theres a lot of flavor, good body.. nicely fermented wrapper, good performance. But the flavors dont compliment each other. And worse, theres a dirt component that combines destructively with the distinct oily taste from the wrapper that can become unpleasant. Fortunately, the finish is fairly quick and clean. There are some nice individual flavors in here but ultimately I think the blending is poor.

Sounds like a good value stick to remember. Unfortunetley, I don’t buy from CI! Oh well, perhaps by trade at some point. Paul.

Received one in a sampler and the rest is history, enjoy them all and am waiting to try the new Olancho version soon. Great cigars for the price.
