San Miguel Torpedo Cigar Review

This 6×52 box pressed stick features a medium brown slightly oily mildly toothy satin wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, and even slightly spongy pack and rich earth and hay aroma. First light reveals a great draw with good thick smoke output giving medium bodied flavors of a pepper and cream with a bit of leather earth and touch of spice through the long finish. The first third tones down the pepper spice and cream, leaving a very smooth earthy core with a great burn, holding the ash for an inch. Going through the 2nd third in 40 minutes, it only changes by bringing back a bit of the creamy flavors adding to the smooth performance. Ending at the hour mark the last third showed no further changes.

  • Thank you Bryan! We all appreciate information on manufacturer, price and availability. There is a lot more to a good cigar than just taste. Keep it up!

    UNGRATEFUL!!!

    • Huh?

      • NeverTwoOld

I’m assuming he/she is talking about the way you addressed the gift from the well meaning client.

        • Well as I very clearly explained in the vid – I AM very grateful for the gift and the gesture! I simply took the opportunity to educate the viewers about the fakes. Non-cigar smokers are where the vast majority of these fakes end up with since if you don’t know, you would never even think such as thing as ‘fake cigars’ even existed! It would be like a new car shopper having to worry about a ‘fake Ford’.

I wasn’t criticizing one way or the other I was merely trying to answer your “huh?” 🙂

Thanks Bryan for the great review and the informative heads up about the phony cigars.
I bought up every San Miguel I could get my hands on (over 800) I still have about 400 left. However I am getting real nervous over the fact I will never be able to find another like the San Miguel. Please recommend something that smokes as great as a San Miguel. I am getting frustrated checking various cigars only to find non have yet been able to reach the stellar levels of a San Miguel. Why they stopped making those cigars is beyond me.

I’ve had San Miguel before a very decent cigar.
It’s been a while since i had one and thanks for reminding how good this cigar is Bryan.
Unfortunately i tagged into C.I only to find out they don’t carry them any more. That’s a bummer as i was ready to order a box.

  • bryan122

I also tried to find them on cigarinternational.com. Know of anyone else that carries them?

    • CAPPY

Sorry, I bought every San Miguel left on every vendors shelf…. I have them all… and I’m going crazy as I deplete my stash. I hope there’s another cigar being made that meets the quality of a San Miguel.

  • Anthony Bedus

I read that these cigars are not being produced anymore there being discontinued for some reason.

  • dgrambo

Great stick, I found the deal but sold out. Ive got a stash of them already but at that price Id have bit. I wonder why they were disco’d?

  • Chris

Great video! The part on the fake cigar was particularly cool. Have you ever done a side by side comp of a good cigar vs a fake? If not, and you are willing to sacrifice a good cigar in the name of education, I think it would make for a great video, both educating and entertaining. Keep up the good work!

Good info about fakes. I like how some review vids will have bonus info in them. This one should be advertised to let pple know address fakes as well as the review. But then it would make it look weird..so nvm.

I’ve smoke fake cubans in the past, bc I ended up buying a box of fake cohibas. They actually were decent smokes…no cocaine in them unfortunately.

I used this review and the comments to decide whether or not to buy a mazo of 20 recently offered by a well known online retailer. Smoked one right off the truck and am very pleased for the price! Thanks for the help!

Anyone notice the critter crawling up the fence behind Bryan midway through?
