Fighting Cock Robusto Cigar Review
Fighting Cock Robusto Cigar Review
This 5×52 stick features a medium brown dry, slightly tooth wrapper like a fine sandpaper. It has minimal veins, tight seams, double cap and a very sweet earthy aroma with an even spongy give. First light reveals a perfect draw with great smoke output giving medium-full bodied flavors of a smooth sweet earth, and a long pepper and spice finish. The first third completely transforms, dropping all the first light combos and settling to a slightly sweet and oily wood with a short clean finish. The ash holds to the 30 minute mark at the 1/2 way point, where flavors remained unchanged. Ending at 50 minutes where it got hot and mushy, the whole stick proved to be very mild and plain. Thank you viewer Brad Tubesing for generously sending this in!

Sounded like a waste of lighter gas.
Oh well. Win some, lose some.
Hey brian, do you have 5 cheap sticks that you actually like? Or at least 5 that you don’t hate?
I was surprised that you suggested Davidoff as an alternative mild stick.
Not only beacause I was so sure you were going to say Macanudo, but also Ive never considered Davidoff to be a mild. In fact by the time I get to the nub on a #2, Im usually feeling it pretty good.
Thanks as always, great job.
They do have some fuller blends but in general they are known for mild body smokes.
i thought i had one of these before and liked it, but i must be thinking of something else…
because this one doesn’t sound too good
good review, i’ll remember it the next time i see the cigar and maybe give it a try or maybe not (and just give up to assume i mistaked it with something else)
for the price point, these are not bad. I find these are good for yard work or just as an on the way work cigar. I dont mind throwing out the back third if I have to and they are a decent smoke along the way. While the review is right that the first third is good and the second third is okay or just plain, I would not say that these are bad. At $29 or $39 for a box of 20 at CI, these are actually a good value.
