A. Flores 1975 Serie Privada Capa Maduro Cigar Review

This 5×52 box pressed stick features a very soft and suple oily smooth tan wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, a light pack, triple cap and a mild damp pepper aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw and just mild peppery tobacco flavor with a long finish. The first third snugs up where it should be in just 1/8″, upping the body to a solid medium with smooth oily mellow tobacco and pepper but just leaving a zing, no heat. The 2nd third needs just one minor touchup and flavors remain unchanged. 1 hour in at the band point it needed another minor touchup just to correct a flap on the wrapper and a touch of a cinnamon sweetness is creeping in. Ending at 1:10 the last third ramped up the strength tremendously to the point where I couldn’t handle it, making me very dizzy, sweaty and not feeling well at all…I can’t take a lot of strength in cigars! This is set to debut in August 2012 at the IPCPR show.

Hope you’ve recovered by now. You were looking a little green at the end. It sounds like these need a few more months of rest to balance out the strength to flavor ratio. Thanks for taking one for us.

This is the first time I have ever seen anyone turn a legit shade of green! I hate that feeling!

  • Yeah that’s the worst feeling. I KNEW I couldn’t take another puff, it was a legit struggle to get through the closing. 5 seconds later I was hurling on the lawn 🙁 Luckily after a spoon of sugar, in 5 minutes the nausea passed!

No way Ive never had a cigar so strong it made me throw up. I hate it when the strength ramps up at the end of a smoke.

I love a powerful cigar! I want to try these! Just curious if J. Drew is THE Jonathan Drew? Please let me know as I love your work. Thank you for the review and look forward to many more, preferably that end without you puking on the lawn! lol

    Bryan,

Having never smoked cigarettes myself…is the nicotine rush different in cigars or has it just been that long since you quit cigarettes?

How long does it take you to get back in the saddle after a stick like that? I had one a few weeks ago that knocked me down and it took a few of days to want to light up again.

    • Apples and Oranges. it would be like smoking a whole pack at once.

Bryan, I was going though my favorite reviews today and remembered how bad i still feel for you after the review, and again I have to tell u how much its appreciated doing what u do.

its a hard job but someone has to do it. I would love to have the time to do my own revies site. I’m just glad Bryan does the best job of it on the interweb

Good thing we could hear you after you blended in with the foliage. I almost got sick watching you. This does answer my request for more strength though. Great review
