La Aurora Preferidos Ruby No. 2 Tubed Cigar Review

This 5×54 perfecto features a very dark brown firm toothy wrapper with small veins, tight seams, rock hard pack and potent hay and barn aroma. First light reveals a snug draw with minimal mild-medium smoke output giving flavors of a sugary sweet light tobacco with a long sweet finish. The first third sees the draw open up to normal with great smoke output giving medium bodied flavors of a sweet musty leather on the draw, fading to a long sweetness and touch of pepper through the finish. The 1/2 way point comes and goes at 25 minutes without any change. Ending at 45 minutes where it got too hot for my taste, the whole experience turned out to be very consistant from start to finish. Thank you very much to the anonymous viewer that sent this is to me, I greatly appreciate the submission!

I was wondering what happened to your perfect cutter. The last few videos you have been using the xikar and it had me worried you where a defector! Ha ha. Glad to see it back.

Close, it’s a Colibri ;) I also have Xikars too, and a Palio that I will occasionally use.

I just bought the Cuban Crafters Perfect Cutter (the original one with larger finger holes) that Bryan reviewed and recommended…glad I did…great cutter.

I smoked the Preferidos Blue Tube last week and must say that I had a similar experience to your review above…a little tight to start (more from the shape)…then opened up as I got to the fat part of the cigar…burn a bit wonky but caught up eventually…nice smooth flavour that was consistent throughout…lots of great smoke and no big strength…overall it was a really enjoyable smoking experience! Thanks for the reviews…keep up the great work!

How is the Papoose Brian? They have some diehard fans. I have never held one.

Damn auto correct. I meant Palio

Same as any other guillotine IMO.

I had no problem donating this! Jk lol.

  • pittjitsu

    That’s a $20 stick.. ouch

I would love to try one of these, but $18-$20 for a 45 minute smoke isn’t in my financial comfort zone.

I agree. I would get it on sale or an otherwise good discount.

Is the Ruby the Maduro wrapper? CigarMonster has the Connecticut preferido at $23/5 pack until midnight tonight.

You can get a 5 pack sampler with one of each wrapper for $69. That brings the price down to $14 each. http://www.bonitasmokeshop.com/La%20Aurora%20Cigars.htm
