Don Pepin Garcia Serie JJ Selectos Maduro Cigar Review

This 5×50 cigar features a very firm, thick dark brown wrapper with a triple cap, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, a dry slightly toothy feel and rich pepper aroma. First light reveals a very loose draw with medium bodied smoke giving flavors of a very smooth oily tobacco with a long finish. The first third tightens the draw slight but the ash is very flowery and flaky. By the 1/2 way point it needed a large touchup to correct a side that didn’t want to burn very well. Flavors remained unchanged all the way through, with the last third ending at 55 minutes, the only shift being a strength kick coming in for the last 30 minutes. Thank you very much to the Hemry brothers, Brian & Brandon for sending this for review!

Smoked one a few days ago. Had almost the exact same experience. The ash was like a light snow falling on my IPad constantly during the whole smoke. The draw on mine snugged up at about the half way point and started crackeling like a campfire when I took a draw. I love that lol
    Good work Bryan!

Good review. Will stay away from this one.

Just smoked the J.J. natural (white label). The ash wasn’t nearly as bad as yours. The draw was really loose to start but firmed up a bit 1/2 way. This thing was a real disappointment to be honest. The flavors were really mild and not nearly as peppery as I was hoping. Mostly cedar and light tobacco flavors. Nothing really exciting popped out at any point. I was expecting a LOT more out of this in terms of flavors. No gripes with construction though. These do NOT live up to the hype! That’s why I like this site so much. Bryan’s reviews are always honest and objective.

This for me has always been a great cigar, one of my favs.. At the price it was when it was out you should’ve never had this problem. I think you might have gotten a dud brother….
