Blanco Cigars Maduro Robusto Cigar Review

This 5×52 cigar features a very dark almost black firm wrapper with a rough sandpaper tooth, double cap, minimal veins, tight invisible seams and a sweet, peppery manure aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with just a touch of resistance, tons of thick smoke output with a medium-full body flavor profile of a creamy, smooth tobacco and a bit of pepper and spice though the long finish. The first third progresses without any flavor changes, just being a bit of a challenge to keep burning with such a thick wrapper. Taking double quick puffs completely cures it however, and it’s burning just fine as far as it’s performance and line. 35 minutes in at the 1/2 way point it needed a quick touchup to even out the wrapper and had no flavor shifts. Ending at 1 hour in where it got too warm for my taste, it proved to be a very consistent stick all the way down as far as flavor, but also bringing quite a strength rush for the last 1/2.

The Blancos (I keep wanting to say Los Blancos) are much overlooked and underappreciated, in my opinion. I keep hoping to find a wider selection at my B&M. I have heard Dave say that they strive to cater to the B&Ms, rather than the big box online retailers, and I respect that.

Thanks for the Blancos reviews Bryan.

I’ve had both of these cigars, but only one of each so far. I found the Connecticut to be very bitter. May have been because of the coffee I had with some of it. The maduro was great though and I will have to get a couple more of each before final judgement.

Bryan it seems as though you were a little extra forgiving on this review. Thank you much, always enjoy your enthusiasm and joy of the cigar. Your reviews are the closest thing to smoking one myself. Thanks Again!

Hey Bryan, I love the reviews, I cant stop watching them. For years I’ve wished I had some insight on the flavors of different smokes but didn’t have the time or money, thanks. I would like to here the prices of the sticks you’re testing. thanks again.
